No JayKrewe, in the upper right of post, the recipient of the reply is denoted.

The reply was to Swangin69, LSU's new coach.
I guess he's busy getting a playsheet together.

You can, once again thank the defense and ST's for that. Giving the offense the ball deep in opponent territory.

The numbers don't lie, son.

Total Offense:

2006: 11th 13 games 5427 yards for a 6.63 yards per play average 417.46 yards per game

2007: 26th 14 games 6154 yards only 5.84 ypp 439.03 ypg

2008: 55th 13 games 4785 yards 5.4 ypp 368.08 ypg

2011: 86th 14 games 4971 yards 5.71 ypp 355.07 ypg
notice a trend?

So yeah. . .Chavis ggave the offense a ton of gifts. Any other statistical anomalies you need explained to you?

What's wrong with that? It's a good thing and happened with '03 and '07 squads.
'03 is #1 all time in defensive points

Each has of us has their own measuring stick I guess.
When games are decided by yards instead of points, I guess I'll convert to your ruler.

Just for shits and giggles, here are the LSU Top 5 All Time Total Offense

#1 and 3/5, with 3 different OCs.

Just bout the only constant around when LSU was doing what you have pointed out and leading the SEC/BCS in wins and claiming 3 west titles, 1st in the SECW for titles, and winning 2 SEC titles, 1st in the SEC for titles, was/is the HC...go figure.

This type complaining/whining/finger pointing after our 1st regular season loss since Nov 2010 only points out how spoiled/entitled we have become due to the efforts of the players and coaches that some are now pissing on and pointing fingers of blame toward...pretty amusing when you think bout it.

The complaints about the offense are nothing new. We were shut out vs. Bama. I find it alarming fans aren't bothered by the fact our offense shows no improvement.

Go back to last November

Bama-9 pts
Georgis-0 first downs in first half
Auburn- 12 pts
Florida-6 pts

To want the offense to improve is a negative thing?? I don't understand how fans can not want the best.

Also 18-2 over last 20 games is great and all but how many of those games was LSU the favorite? 18 of them

92 yards of offense in the National Championship Lonnie.

And I'm spoiled because I along with many others would like to see more than 92 yards of offense in a game.

Comical, like our offense.

Herm Edwards may be as smart a coach as Les Miles would you agree???

This morning on Mike and Mike he was quoted as saying that as a HC or OC you have to fit the scheme to the players not the players to the scheme....

So to the original question I'll again answer NO I'm not smarter than Les when it comes to football but I'll go on record for saying that Herm Edwards is at least as smart as him and he knows that you can't keep trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...

Also Mett even kinda called out the play calling in the paper today... " We may need to have a little more variety in our play calling"

Now we really can keep going back abnd forth about stats from last year all the back to 2005 if you want but they don't mean jack shite to this years team because as this team stands TODAY the offensive scheme has got to change.

No

But that doesn't mean that I can't recognize poor coaching decisions here and there

We ALL want the best including the coaches on the sidelines and the players on the field and the fact LSU has lived in the Top 10 of college football since bout the 7th week of 2010 shows to me lots at LSU have been trying pretty damn hard to give it their best.

Our passing game has been lacking for a good while for whatever the reason and I blame the LSU staff. Our rush game, 95% of the time, had been pretty damn good and I credit the staff. Our D has been very good and I credit the staff. Our team has been elite and I credit the players and the staff.

I think the players and coaches deserve a period of time, cause of the elite record/effort they have afforded us, to try to work out the O problems cause by coaching/execution/injuries.

I owe that to them before I join the finger pointing crowd...others can do as they please.

...nope. But, I am not acting like I do either

Besides, amputating the wrong foot is a far more cut (no pun intended) and dry process. It's either one or the other. Whereas, the plight of the Tiger offense may be based upon MANY unseen variables......unseen to the drunk ticket holders that is.

Nice try, but you missed.

Care to answer the question?

ok, maybe the chef had reasons for the poor food.....was the oven/stove/grill operating properly and was he actively trying to rectify the complicated situation. Did the sou chefs mislabel the herbs or did critters get in the herb garden rendering them useless requiring them to use dry replacements in a pinch?

Yes, the food sucked, but the restaurant has a great rating typically. Would you fire the chef based upon just the meal or consider what he was dealing with?

Well I am not in the fire miles crowd. I really don't take them serious either. i think they are just venting. But I am all about being critical of what I think prevents this team being better and with more chance for success going forward...which is the offense.

most of the people here don't even understand benefit of the doubt. but i like what you're trying to do and you can put me with the "no i do not know more than Les" crowd.

I recognize that Les makes mistakes on his level and expect EVERY coach to do so. They aren't Christ.

BUT, for know-nothings to make snap absolute judgemental opinions about his abilities when they DO NOT have the full background is reckless and just fricking stupid. Espicially, when the man's record is out of this world.

Say, our illustrious WR crew catches 5 of the 7, hell, 4 of the seven dropped passes OR OBJ tucks the ball as he's tackled, does LSU still lose Saturday? High probability NO.

Now, it is Les' responsibility to see that his WRs can catch. That is his issue and I don't know how to fix it either and other coaches may not as well. shite happens.
