I did the math after that season, production on offense and defense was largely split between players recruited by Saban and by Miles

Is it possible for me to see the numbers? Only reason I ask is because im thinking back on that year and thinking of the guys that made huge plays for us and players that got post season accolades. Im looking at the 2007 all sec and all american lists right now and almost all of them were the Saban players.

And I knew you were going to bring up the fact that seniors usually make bigger contributions haha. And I totally agree. But, those were the guys that were coached by Saban/Fisher for a season or 2. Plus, Pelini was our DC so ill give him some of the credit with developing the D players.

nope, but i also don't get paid $4 million/year to coach a major college program either…

i have on several occasions predicted the exact play that he was going to run during games, either in Tiger Stadium or at home…. his reluctance to adapt either within game or game to game is pretty apparent….

while i might not know more than miles, i'm pretty sure most DC do, and that's not very good for us….

He is older than me so I guess he should know more about football. He is one of the highest paid coaches in the country and the offense looks elementary. Anytime you allow a punt returner to field a punt inside the 10 more than once is stupid. He may know more, but it would not take someone with that much knowledge to have a better mindset of calling plays. The real question, is Les Miles earning his pay according to the way this offense performs? Now that answer is no.

you slapdicks just keep on keeping on.

When these kids turn in a good season, you can gfy.

Seriously, coaches nor the players need, want, or even give 2 rat's asses about know it all dog pilers. And guess what? Thats a fact. So, why not stop bitching, save your money, and go watch another game with smart coaches.

Hell, you can have piece of mind you dont support such a pathetic program

And Charles is back...

I have not bashed any of our players. Not the players fault. And, actually Les should care that 95% of the programs fans/students/followers/analysts/boosters/etc are disgusted with what type of offense hes put on the field. Worst part about it is he hasnt given an answer as to why our offense blows right now. I believe his answer was "i dont know." Thats all i need to know right there.

And i would love to see this offense turn it around. But how are we going to turn it around when we wont change anything and havent changed anything for a few years now?

And dont get me wrong, Chuck, Im damn proud of the program we have ever. Just extremely disappointed in some areas.

Everyone knows that unless you are paid to coach and have studied the game for a living, you are not going to know more than Miles. Not even ex-players know more.

My beef is with underachieving and Miles has to know that his team is doing this.

Answer to Question: NO.

This board is an embarrassment right now. I understand people are concerned, and rightfully so.

But the amount of blame on certain players and coaches is terrible.

At the end of the day it takes coaches and players and not a single person on this board knows how to fix the woes of this team.

Charles - you've already booted me out of your thread 2X today so three's a charm?

Not trying to be atagonistic but when you consider we've scored 18 pts total in our last three ganes with SEC teams, when ULM scores 28 on Auburn and we 12, when OM (JC QB, new coach) scores 14 on Bama, do you think what we've seen recently is the best we can do?

Is it unreasonable and unrealistic to think that we should have a more prolific O?

IMO, our struggles are bigger than dropped passes vs UF. They're systemic and chronic.

Reasonable question.

WRs lacking execution, oline bruises, young QB experience -wise, and conservative scheme. Its a variety of things, but this offense is built on TOP first and scoring somewhere after that.

Les is faced with some things fate has dealt ....and he is hardheaded.....

Just look at how all those 4 and 5 star athletes are performing every Sat. and you should be able to answer your own question. Nice try at the spin though, those of us who know better, ain't buyin what you're selling.

Truth #1:
Les knows more about football than I do.

Truth #2
Les can't speak.

Truth #3
Anyone who can speak can communicate football know how better than anyone who cannot speak.

Truth #4
My 3 year old daughter can speak.

Conclusion
My 3 year old daughter can coach better than Les.

Guess what? I'm not his competition. Muschamp is. Spurrier is. The coaches of the other teams are his competition. The correct question is does Les know more about football than them?

Charles,, as much as this pains you a large part of being a fan is being an armchair QB. Second guessing the coaching staff, pretending you could do better, all of it is normal and experienced by every fan base in every sport, anywhere you go.

Rarely are coaches idolized and even then they are questioned when they show their fallibility. It's normal.
