Who is returning? I know Port said he was probably out. Toula jumped over to TDBL, so he may not want to do both.
Based on how many teams return, we can maybe tweak some things. First, we can change the name of the league. Secondly, I was thinking we can keep the 8 keepers, but maybe we can also add 2 or 4 spots for minor league keepers? Instead of the 3 Utility spots on the active roster we can use 1 and the other spots can be for minor leaguers? We could schedule an inaugural minor league draft in like June to determine who owns which minor leaguers from the get go? Just throwing around some things.

Does someone playing to already keep minor league players have to throw them back into the draft? I was not FWIW, but it seems weird if someone was planning to keep Bauer or Myers and then they cannot.

Good point.
I figured those guys would probably start the season in the MLB though, so they would be exempt. But if they do start in the minors, I think they would be able to be kept under regular rules.
Again, I just kind of thought of this and havent thought all the possibilities out

True, I just threw arbitrary names out there.
I have no idea how to convert this either. Also, switching to an auction could be a mess. I would make all keepers not part of the budget because that would penalize the good keeper sets.

Will do, Papz. Im sure a few teams will not return. If a few do not return, I think we could arrange a draft where the vacant teams are redrafted completely.

not sure about all the changes tho. besides the name of the league and maybe adding 1 or 2 minor spots.
we've played for a few years now with this format & people have built their teams to reflect that. i think we'd need to vote on some changes for 2014 now, if that is the route we want to take.
adding a minor leaguer may not affect that.

I think adding 2 players who have spent X amount of time in the minors last season is a good idea.

No, I was more talking about just cutting out the actual number of guys we start and using those spots for minor leaguers.

I really want to do an auction baseball league. Someone figured out how to convert this to one.

The only thing I can say is play this upcoming season out with the notion that this would be the final season... then wipe the slate clean and start fresh with an auction?

Maybe cut it down to 2 UTIL spots.
DAT only had one, and it makes it tough.

I like the 3 UTIL slots.
Indifferent on the minor league roster...i like that if you want to keep a prospect, it will cost you one of your 8 keepers.
Or if you want to draft one, you have to use a regular draft pick.
Not up for a lot changes..like LE said, we've done this league for 3 years and have built and traded for teams based on those rules.

I was only saying reduce UTIL if you added a spot for minor league guys.
I've always felt that there are too many roster spots in this league for only 8 keepers. Anyone else ever feel that way? Like you have guys who you never play. Just thought maybe take 2 of those spots away and use them for something else. Doesn't matter to me though.
