Do you propose a search for a new coach immediately?

We are more than 7 years in to the Miles era and we pretty much know what we have in Les Miles. He probably won't change his basic coaching style at this point. He has won a national championship and has one of the best won-loss records in major college football but he also has weaknesses that some people find intolerable.
Do you find his weaknesses intolerable and are now ready for someone new and want to begin the search today?

If you do want a change now who do you see as the available coach that is capable of producing more wins.

If you are not in favor of a change immediately do you simply bash Miles because you just enjoy complaining? There are some miserable people that are NEVER satisfied with their life and their world and always find something to complain about. Are you one of those people?

I will hang up and listen.

I want someone to walk up and down the sidelines who claps like a seal and doesn't coach to make adjustments.

So, I kind of have what I want.

I still support Miles and want him here. He is a great recruiter and ok enough head coach. He needs to drop his stubborness and bring in an OC and let the guy operate an offense without being minimized contstantly.

As sad as that thought makes me, I have begun to wonder if this coach has run his course at LSU. If he has, then looking (at least quietly) for a suitable, receptive replacement candidate now is preferable to looking later and having to scramble.

There is a difference between bashing and being blind.
We may not need a change in Coach at this time, but we certainly need a change in "coaching" philosophy.

This attitude became obvious during the NC game..frankly, I think there was more than what we were told then and "THAT" -0 whatever it is, is playing a big part now.

The man needs therapy to get over 2008. Maybe he should go skydiving with Mingo.

What facts are more important than 24-6 in the SEC since 2009? Who else exactly could do that? Seriously name a candidate who we could LEGITIMATELY hire.

No.

Miles is our coach, and he is who he is. And that is what we have to accept. He isn't Saban, and we will always know that if Saban had stayed, we would be Bama right now.

But we aren't.

And it is borderline retarded to assume that you could stick any number of coaches into the head coaching spot at LSU and they would just start winning the BCS every year.

Miles is a great recruiter and a very good coach. Unfotunately, there is a great recruiter and a great coach in our own division who Miles will never live up to.

We keep Miles as long as we can. The O coordinator needs ot be fired though.

For the record, FSU won for 2 decades using this strategy.

no

i think the AD needs to put some pressure on miles, though, as in, "you need to fire x, y, or z"

:kige:

The people that are so quick to point out his weakness completely ignore his strengths and why he has won so many games here

WTF is honestly talking about this with a straight face?

I think the most radical solution or notion I have is to go out & hire our next head coach-as Offensive Coordinator.

That man is Todd Monken IMO.

We need to reassign Kragthorpe to another position in the AD. Honor the rest of his contract at its current rate & then offer him something w/health insurance going forward. Hell, maybe even pay for his COBRA if he decides to leave LSU before getting a job w/a healthcare outcome that's palatable to him.

We need to then allow Monken to allow Miles to make some suggestions on a new OL Coach. Then we'll allow Monken his own input & suggest candidates. Pare them down giving Monken ultimate signoff authority w/the olive branch to Miles that he can be in the room during the interview.

The hire belongs to Monken.

The offense at that point is completely turned over to him. No other changes. I know the first sentence leaves a lot of things unsaid, but there's no real use in hashing that out anymore than necessary.

Miles makes game-decisions and gets to focus solely on clock-management, game decisions & perhaps mess around a bit with Special Teams.

Monken & Chavis are allowed to coordinate, make decisions on player personnel, and playcalls. Period.

In short:

- Hire Todd Monken, give him the title of Senior Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach.
- Reassign Krag & give him as much of a Golden Parachute as we can provide.
- Have Miles help Coach Dud find a new job somewhere else as he always does.
- Give Monken & Miles equal input into candidate screening for open offensive positions. Give Monken ultimate sayso on interviews & hires. Miles can sit in on interviews.

So we lose our first regular season game since 2010 and people want a new coach? We are playing with ONE offensive lineman in his normal spot, 2 freshman and a sophomore in the toughest conference in the country. Was anyone here for the 20 years prior to Saban? I remember praying we could break into the top 10.

LSU fans are THE BIGGEST CRYBABIES I have ever seen. Other than Saban who is better you morons? Maybe we can get Nutt or BP?
