That needs to happen sooner rather than later. I use to roll my eyes at the trade Ingram threads, but now I think we almost have too, UNLESS, we plan on turning into a run first offense. I thought Bush would do well in Miami and I was right. I was wrong about Ingram.

meh, the defense benefited from the Chargers LT being hurt and unable to play. He should have been laying down in the locker room.

Pretty much every pass that Rivers completed was essentially just throwing it up for grabs. And, our DBs couldn't do anything about it. You could take a few guys from LSU and Bama and have a better secondary than the Saints have right now. They are garbage and got exposed even more than before. Literally, Rivers was just side-arming the ball up in the air and Jenkins and company were oblivious.

This defense is going to continue to get exposed week in and week out as being extremely weak. Unless we continue to play against OL that are hurt, we aren't going to stop anyone.

I'm ready for the Saints to blow up that fricking Falcons Cinderella ball that's going on right now. There's a lot of high fiving in the ATl and that shite's gotta stop...NOW! This team can and will do this.

The defense is still shite. The Saints have the worst secondary in the leauge guys can't cover shite. Loved the win, don't expect long winning streaks this year.

Just STFU Mr.Negative, if it wasn't for the defense we would be 0-5

Sorry been on the Rant all morning. Great win, but the D still has a long way to go.

I was literally screaming at the top of my lungs for PT in the first half, I mean how fricking hard is it to realize the guy moves the damn chains. He is a HOSS

Payton must have snuck in a play call or two, I am glad to see them get PT more involved. He helps the team win for sure

But the defense sucks. Sure, they made some great plays and helped us seal the win but it was our offense that brought us to 0-4. Spags was never anything special, case in point 2012, but what he is doing is even worse. He is squandering the talent we have. Not sure how he could do it but he is.

Can you guess three teams that have a better defense than New Orleans?

Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Buffalo Bills.

Why those three?

Buffalo Bills have played the 1, 4, 6, 24, 28 ranked offenses

Tennessee Titans - 1, 3, 15, 20, 23 ranked offenses

Cleveland Browns - 2, 8, 11, 14, 17 ranked offenses

And yet they have a better defense than ours

Now look at the Saints defense and who they have gone up against...

4, 7, 21, 22, 23 ranked offenses plus a combined record of 9-16.

It isn't rocket science to see that this Saints Defense has the tools to be successful but for some reason, they just can't seem to get their shite together. We have played an easier schedule and somehow have become the laughing stock of the NFL's defenses.

Even last night we gave up 427 yards, more than we had, and 24 points. This team is heading towards 8-8 territory because the bulk of the tough games are coming up now. The remaining games include SF, @NYG, @ATL, @DEN, @DAL, PHI, @OAK, @TB

Give the defense a little credit for last night by being in the right situation at the right time but this defense will be the reason we don't make the playoffs and is the reason we were 0-4

maybe people who can't see past their nose. our defense is crap. Our DL has gotten zero pressure on the QB throughout 5 games except in one situation were a LT was on one leg. Our D can't stop the run, can't stop the pass.

I'm not making excuses for San Diego. I don't care about their team. I care about the fact that our Defense blows and is showing zero signs of getting better.

Everyone agrees on this, and that he gives us a much needed spark, with tough runs or well ran screen plays. But once he gets tired and its not a 3rd down situation(Sproles), Ingram just doesn't deserve the carries, and until Ivory goes in there and shows he's no good and still fumbles, then I think he should get carries. Look at Ridley, 28 carries 151yrs 1 td and a fumble. Who on here wouldn't take that stat line with a win?

In order for our weak defense to get better, the offense needs to improve the run, which would give us a longer time of possession. Main reason why we couldn't win the Chiefs game is because we kept passing and didn't run in the 3rd quarter when we had the lead.

If Ivory isn't good enough to get playing time over Ingram, who has done nothing- then we need to cut him and get another defensive player. It was nice to see him finally in a uniform last night at least.
