In the 7.5 years under Les Miles, we have had issues offensively against teams that can match us physically.

80% of the time, LSU is physically superior to their opponent...enough to where it can exert its will in the trenches and win the game by sheer physicality.

It is the other 20% of the time, where our offensive system will struggle mightily.

We will win a few of the 20% games due to our amazing defense, AND IF the BALL BOUNCES RIGHT (2007 Florida, 2010 Bama, 2011 Bama, etc)

We'll also lose a few of the 80% games (2007 UK, 2010 Arky, etc).

And guess what Les Miles's winning percentage is at LSU? That's right...about 80%!!!

He'll continue to win 80% of the time as long as he's here.

But fans shouldn't expect anything different in these evenly matched games. If we're lucky, we'll win 9-6 or 21-17, etc.

It's crazy that your research resulted in that parallel. SCIENCE!

of course they're made up, but we're all friends here, why not have some fun extrapolating right?

The point is...his current offensive scheme isn't viable enough to consistently win against the few teams in CFB that can physically match us (Bama, FLA, UGA, etc).

Granted, it's probably only 20% of the teams in CFB that can match us....

It looks like with all the talent Louisiana has , we could have an offense that could put some damn points on the board .

Ok #1 that's a huge oversimplification

and #2 you do realize that a coach who wins 80% of his games is a hall of famer, right?

It's painful to watch LSU. If I don't watch does that mean I'm not a fan?

its the 20% that will keep LSU from championships. are you completely blind?? the offense is terrible and its not because they're young. only 20% or so of teams in college football have equal or better talent than LSU. just like Les Miles...an arrogant bully when he crushes a weaker team, but befuddled when an "equal" opponent beats him.

Les makes the big bucks to win going forward not just to rest on past wind. It will be interesting to watch the season play out. Will Les adjust?

no coach in america has a pristine record against top 10 teams. Nick Saban is 15-11 against top 10 teams. Les Miles is 13-11. No offensive scheme is viable enough to consistently beat teams that match up with you physically. If you're evenly matched with another team, logic would dictate you have a 50/50 chance of winning. Amazing how Saban and Miles are hovering right around 50% against top 10 teams isn't it

I agree with you, that's why I'm saying that fans shouldn't expect any different. And this is also why I can predict the results for the rest of Miles' tenure here.
