Do you remember 2003? LSU lost on the road to a not so good Florida team, and looked pretty ugly in doing so. They went on a to win the NC that year.

At home actually. 19-7. I was there.

Les, nor a single player was a part of that team. I don't see the correlation, other than a statistical probability, which is highly unlikely.

The definition of "controlling one's destiny" is being able to ensure a spot in the national championship based solely on one's own actions for the remainder of the season.

By that definition, technically LSU didn't control its destiny at any point, but it was reasonable to prognosticate that if LSU had won out, it would be No. 2 (to No. 1 Oregon) or No. 1. That's controlling one's own destiny.

After that loss, LSU dropped below at least three undefeated teams. Your own analysis relied on a loss from two of the teams I named. That is definitionally not controlling one's destiny.

Please try again.

Was it as ugly as Saturday's game? That gives me even more hope that LSU can still turn it around.

What we need to concentrate on is NOT winning the SEC, the West, or even the next game, but, rather, on winning the next play
