Despite the record, the Denver Broncos are off to a pretty good start...

Sounds crazy, but...
The 3 teams the Broncos have lost to this year are the Texans, Falcons, and Pats. 2 are undefeated, and the Pats are still the Pats. Looking at the losses, we took the Falcons and Texans down to the last drive, and gave the Pats a run before McGahee "herp-derped" all over the 4th quarter. 31-21 doesn't show how close the game really was. Peyton Manning is back, BTW. He's back to ripping defenses apart. The Broncos get the Chargers next Monday night @ San Diego, and I'm hoping for a Saints win tonight over the Chargers. Geaux Saints.
Cheers to the rest of the season, football fans!

Pats had the game iced and then tried to let the Broncos back in the game by not punting.

does not compute

You guys are by far better shape than you were last year, adding one of the best QB's to ever play the game over a running QB helps too.

It was 31-7 at one point.

And 20 yards away from being 31-28

The season is almost to "you are what your record says you are" territory, but yeah that is a brutal schedule. Next Sunday is pretty much a must win though.

Credit Peyton for his great 2nd half/4th quarters, but the Broncos have been down pretty big in all their losses. That defense needs to get much better consistently if they want to make the playoffs.

I'm pretty surprised about the defense. They're definitely better than what they're showing right now.
And they need a consistent run game.

What happened to the defense that "carried" Tebow all of last year? You have to admit that Tebow's running offense kept the defense fresh.

quote:OK, and? Peyton Manning has lead a furious comeback in every game we've lost. And that was against the best teams in the league this year (Texans, Falcons, and Pats). I'm just saying these losses aren't bad, and the record doesn't show how good the Broncos are this year.
It was 31-7 at one point.
We have the Saints, Chargers (2), Bengals, Panthers, Chiefs (2), Buccs, Raiders, Ravens, and Browns coming up on the schedule. I'd be shocked if we didn't make it to the playoffs. Especially with the way Manning is playing.

The defense has to get better if they're actually going to make or do anything in the playoffs. The secondary looked like complete shite against Houston, and NE completely dominated the LOS today. Not looking great on that side of the ball

Manning is playing great though. This was from rotoworld before this weekend's game:
quote:
Aside from the first quarter against Atlanta in Week 2, Peyton Manning has not thrown an interception this season. Throw out the one bad quarter, and Manning has completed 92-of-143 passes (64.3 percent) for 1,117 yards (7.81 YPA), and an 8:0 TD-to-INT ratio through four games.
Those stats would look a lot better after today too

Manning is playing great though.
Plus, let's face it, the Texans, Falcons, and Pats have some of the best offenses in the NFL.

Wasn't trying to discredit Manning for making the plays but the Pats were one step ahead the entire game. Brady gave the Broncos good field position on one drive and were a fumble in the redzone away on the next from sealing the game.

8-3 in this stretch, IMO.

BUT, BUT the defense carried the team last year! Tebow did nothing!

quote:The defense did carry the team at the end of last year, but it was mainly because we didn't face any strong offenses. The Broncos would be win-less with Tebow at this point.

Can it be some of Pey-Pey's stats were accumulated after Denver was down huge and the opposing defenses started playing looser? Just a thought.

No doubt about it,no one is disputing that.
