Will he ever face the music that he knows very little about offense scheming and play calling?

Maybe I am expecting too much

This seems to be a common concern among many fans, myself included. I do not like the Univ. of Texas, but I did like the way Mack Brown was told a couple of years ago that he would bring in a new offensive coordinator, whether he wanted to or not, and did so.

It is time this happened at LSU.

Obviously he has input...hee's the damn head coach, but do you honestly think Miles calls plays during the game?

ETA: They wear headsets for a reason...they discuss plays and schemes just like he discusses the defense with Chavis. Yes, believe it or not, Miles has a say in the defense, too.

You serious? Plenty turn it over to a coordinator. Lot of O Coordinators are getting paid in the upper 6 figures. Do you think they get paid to just suggest and back off the play calling? I think not.

Ok. Tell me exactly who. Which head coach that you know of completely lets his coordinator run the show? Names please and how you know this.
Thanks

They all had noticeably different offenses, actually.

And OP, I doubt the head coach of any school will relinquish all control of the offense, defense and special teams to his coordinators. That doesn't make any sense.

If Les has somehow memorized the entire playbook so that he doesn't need his chart during the game, then that's damn impressive. Krags has the play chart on the sidelines. Stud has it in the booth. Les's involvement seems limited to overall strategy, rather than specific play calls. And he deserves equal blame as the other offensive coaching staff. But there is no way Les is calling plays.

Indeed they did. Based on available personnel.

Exactly.

He got rid of his BBQ buddy Greg Davis and brought in Bryan Harsin. It's made a world of difference, especially with the passing game.

If Les really loves LSU and wants to win, he needs to bite the bullet and do what's required for the greater good.

So your great gawd Saban lets his coordinators run free?
Saban doesn't give up any control to anyone about anything at any tine. Hell I bet he chooses the recipes for the cake at the post game meal. For the basketball team.

If we had an OC on the level of Chavis we would be unstoppable. Miles is great at getting the coaches he wants too. I just don't think he is willing to turn over the reigns. Miles wants a downhill running offense. There are OCs out there that can make LSU be amazing offensively with that style. We just don't seem to want to go that route.

and this is the problem with yall. The thread isn't about the guy the beat the evr loving shite out of LSU in the NCgame last year but about Miles needing to figure out how to put some points on the board.

Do you suggest he turned over the reins totally to Chavis?
If he did that why not abdicate totally to his OC?
