I like how people in here were saying no way it ever happens.
Never say never you dumb shits.

I am happy to say that I never said no way, however I can see how some people did given Wren's history.

Awesome news about Beachy

We just need to find our groove and hang in there close with the Nats in the first half, then let Medlen, Beachy, Minor, and Hudson take over in the 2nd half.

B.J. is a bit of a wild card for me. Strange how his BB% and OBP have fluctuated through the years. His trend of swinging at more pitches as he gets older is strange too. There's plenty of good hitters with a higher O-Swing% than his though. I was kind of surprised how high some of them were actually. It seems a bit like he can't decide on what approach he wants to take at the plate.
I've got a good feeling in Justin and Jason really start putting it together this year. I hope for B.J. to settle in and become a bit more consistent.
Whatever happens, I'm just ready to watch it!

I had to bite my tongue, because I certainly was not going to jinx it.

Looks like I am more in the know than DOB.

Trade for Justin, sign BJ, and we have the most swag filled outfield ever
but as far as actual discussion goes, i wouldnt be upset if swisher could be had for a decent price. not holding my breath though.
either one of the uptons would be great if they could play well in the lead off spot.

Know I'm a little late, butoh well. I liked the trade , but the thing I'm worried about is JUP's history with attitude problems. Losing two key clubhouse guys like Chipper and Prado may not show up in any metric, but it might have an affect on the team in some form.

I'm sure if he's losing focus his older brother will give him a swift kick in the arse

What history?

I've never really understood the people claiming that Justin has had attitude problems, at least to the point where they were to the concern of the team.
I think Kevin Towers said it best when he said that Justin gives maximum effort all the time, but it doesn't really show. He will be fine.
Even so, the atmosphere around the Atlanta franchise is certainly different than the one in Arizona. The Braves haven't had to deal a whole lot with attitude problems, other than Yunel, because guys just love to play here.

I didn't know there was any. You may be confusing Justin with BJ.

Here's a series of Tweets from a Beat Writer that spent a year covering JUPTON:
quote:
Story that Justin Upton isn't a grinder is garbage. I spent the 2012 season w/ him for a story, and he's the definition of a "grinder." (1)
quote:
In fact, coaches told me they thought he was working too hard to break out of his slump, which was injury related. (2)
quote:
Upton refused to go on the DL early in the season because he thought his team needed him. CY was on the DL, Drew had yet to come back. (3)
quote:
Upton sacrificed his health for what he thought was for the good of his team. Isn't that one of the definitions of a "grinder?" (end)
quote:
Unpublished Upton quote to me: "I don't want to seem like I'm cocky, but it doesn't like I'm running, and I'm fast.... (1)
quote:
"You know how many times I hear `Upton hustle!' [from fans]? I don't look like a max-effort guy. (2)
quote:
"When it looks like I'm a max-effort guy, it's time to hang up the spikes. I dive when I need to dive. (3)
quote:
"I'm going to wait for the ball to stop bouncing around in the corner because that's what I'm taught to do. (4)
quote:
"It's those little things you learn along the way. I'm going to make the smart play, not the hustle play." (end) #Upton
quote:
Atlanta, you got a great guy with Justin Upton. One of the most level-headed 20-somethings I've met.

You are thinking of BJ.
Hopefully the combination of getting to play with his brother and a change of scenery will fix those issues.

Exactly.
If either one has an attitude problem then this is the perfect setup to fix it. With the Braves record of being a players organization and your brother here. Plus you have to think Mom and Dad will be at most of the games so it'll be like the old days.
