Loved the movie. I started wondering who would be in a sequel, three other styles. Joe Walsh maybe? Someone from the metal/neo classical era? Yngwie would be fun just for the absolute arrogance. Maybe Brad Paisley to rep the country/chicken picken style?

No way I would watch that. That just doesn't seem even remotely interesting.

I could watch something along the lines of:

Eddie van halen
Prince
Derek Trucks

Now THAT would be interesting.

Tedeschi trucks band is phenomenal as well. But Derek TRULY shines with the Allman Brothers. It's obvious that that is his home imo

Got to be.

I was at the woodlands a few years ago when Widespread Panic was touring with ABB. Well Jimmy Herring got on stage and jammed with DT and WH. I don't think I could've handled any more amazingness without shitting my pants......

Not even exaggerating

I've seen Jimmy H with Widespread at Jazz Fest about two years ago, was floored. Every time i see Govt Mule i'm secretly hoping DT or JH makes an appearance...

Jimmy is one of the best doing it right now without a doubt. I mean his resume alone proves that. I mean come on Aquarium Rescue Unit, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead, Phil Lesh and friends and WSP. The only major Jam Band he hasn't played for is Phish. You don't play for bands of that caliber without having elite chops. HOWEVER, I don't think his style and sound fit with WSP as well as it could.

Some nights he's phenomenal and everything comes together and it's just perfect. Other nights he's just over there machine gunning away with absolutely zero chemistry with JB and the boys. It can get bad on those nights.

Derek may be the second best slide guitarist around. I like to give Sonny Landreth the nod there.

Thank you Warren Haynes for turning me on to him

What Sonny does is incredible, i just have trouble getting into the songs. Its kinda ghostly/jazzy to me. DT plays like etta james/mahalia jackson sings

Didn't Sonny have throat cancer or something? I think I remember hearing something about that

That's because he grew up wanting to play like Duane. Duane always strove to reproduce the sounds that old 50s black female rnb and gospel singers made.

Remember Derek's uncle is Butch Trucks one of the drummers and founding members of ABB. Derek was bred to be the second coming of Duane Allman. And he is living up to that pressure better than any one could ever be expected to.

I went to a show on his first tour with ABB. At the Beacon in NYC. Enjoyed them and him specifically so much that I bought tickets for the next 2 nights.

I've seen ABB around 10 times. One at age 10 in 97 and then the rest with Derek. That cat can play.

I've seen them 8 times all with Derek. I honestly think that Derek Trucks is the second best guitarist to ever play for ABB, second only to Duane.

That being said I enjoy Warren's side projects more. Warren has a style and tone that can only be described and seductively filthy and I fricking love it. That tone mixed with Warren's voice is the very definition of an eargasm

Warren played with the Dead for a little and I went to a couple shows where he barely even walked off stage. He played a solo acoustic set between the two Dead sets.

Played Soulshine of course each time. That guy is as ugly as a dog, but his voice is solid fricking gold.

That is as flattering of a pic I could find (she is on the right)

She is one of the DJ's on Jam On. You might get her confused for a man if you don't catch her name

Bitch must have smoked 10000 packs of cigs in her lifetime.
