Question about the losers of tonight's baseball games

Do you consider them true playoff teams or are they like the teams who play in the NCAA tournament play in games "playoff teams"?

Im having a hard time calling them a playoff team for some reason. I see it mote along the lines of the NCAA play-in game.

It feels much more like a tie-breaking game to me. And while exciting, those just never feel like real playoff games to me.

I don't understand why the Braves have to have a play in game when they have 6 more wins than St. Louis.

I think it is stupid to have a 1 game playoff in the MLB. I can see as a tiebreaker but for this at least have a 3 game series at the team with the better records place.

Because they have 4 less wins than the Nationals
