I would bet that Brewstock is cheaper. At Avenue they know you're looking to fill it also.

The stone flip top growler at ave pub is well worth the money. Definitely more expensive, but beer lasts a lot long than the normal twist top.

So where could I find one of these in Baton Rouge?

The good one mentioned above. And who will fill it?

amazon and etsy have growlers at decent prices. In BR, by sure, maybe the brew place in N BR if it's still there.

Getting it filled, only place I have found is The Chimes. Going to try Cove and didnt think about The Londoner until now. Not sure if the later two have any beer worth troubling with a growler.

Fwiw, $24 to fill a 64oz growler at The Chimes.

only place ive seen the flip top was ave pub in nola. chimes has a twist top growler, but beer stays better carbonated with the flip top.

I need to make another trip down there to get one, since I didn't end up getting one last time.

I carbonated our black IPA in one. They're solid arse growlers.

That's how they sell it in Birminham.

Seal, light, and something else...forgotten the last reason I was told not to use one. Maybe contamination, but I would guess that goes down to how good you clean it.

I'd be more worried about the seal than the light. But if you're drinking it the same night, it should be fine.
