So the board will be filled with R&R HOF threads the next few days?

Oh well.... Guess I'll lock myself in my bunker until it blows over.

I don't care who is in the R&R HOF but I really hope Rush gets snubbed again mainly because their fans really do care, and its real funny to see them get worked up over it.

well deserved... and a nice credit, to the often overlooked, influential NO music scene...

It's a matter of principle! Don't tell me you're going to start an institution that recognizes musical achievement, then troll me by suggesting that ABBA was better than Rush or Journey!

Was just about to come post this.

For all that is good in the world, they should be elected in a landslide.

ABBA is better than Rush and Journey. What do you have against ABBA?

You can vote for the Meters to which actually counts in the voting process at the bottom of the page.

Nothing I guess. Sold lots of albums, the face of the disco era, had musicals based on their music, and is one of the most successful bands of all time.

But, while they try to diversify the Hall by including innovators, they leave out those bands like Rush who actually embraced rock and roll and forever etched their name in their rock and roll era.

And Disco sucks.

Rush did not "embrace rock and roll" --if they embraced anything it would the progressive art-rock ethos, which would seem to be the antithesis of rock and roll.

Mind you, this in itself does not mean their music is bad. One of my alltime favorite albums, Forever Changes by Love, might be called art-rock. But I would never say it embraced rock and roll.

still in a way a sub genre of rock and roll even if it is only a derivative of rock and roll, and that's why I said "in their era". Prog rock is still much more rock and roll than disco.

The absence of Rush makes that so-called HOF meaningless. Seriously, Chet Atkins is in, but not Rush. Boarding school is more rock and roll than Chet Atkins.

Everyone is forgetting the importance of this thread...The Meters, New Orleans funk legends, have a chance to make the R&R HOF...Take the Rush and ABBA shite to another thread
