It's sad that baseball is losing the sense of League pride with the younger generation. I can't stand the American League and was raised a fan of NL baseball, but you rarely see guys my age who have a League alliance.

One of the things that makes baseball great, imo

frickin A. I don't even like inter league play I can't tell you how pissed I am that the Astros are moving to the AL. I seriously would rather they just moved to a different city.

Three worst things to happen to baseball, imo:

1. The DH
2. Interleague Play
3. The Steinbrenner Family

Nothing like watching the pitcher bunt and hearing humorless douchebags drone on about the intricacies of the double switch. A third grader can figure out the double switch.

Screw the NL.

There's no strategy in AL baseball.

6-5 5-4 8-6 4-2 games in which teams wait for a home run are disgusting.

Give me a good ole fashioned 2-1 NL pitcher's duel any day of the week.

I own a "Free the Birds" shirt. I can tell you the entire starting lineup of the 1983 World Series winner. I know the names of the umpires who screwed us (Rich Garcia in 1996, John Hirschbeck in 1997 though I blame Alomar for that one).

Well now, this post explain a lot.
Theo Fleury jersey, John Kerry bobblehead, Lesbian Dance Therapy lessons and now this...

Now I have to actually travel to fricking St Louis to see the Cubs play. I hope the Yankees plane crashes into Minute Maid.

Congrats Baloo on going to the game tonight! What's your apparel? Whit fronted O's cap? All black?

why just one DH then? Lets bench light hitting short stops and bad hitting catchers. Like we really want to see Roger Metzger hit .231 with 3 HRs.

Bud Selig

My exact sentiments. Change the name, colors, and everything that is with the team now for all I care.

It was Joel Otto, thankyouverymuch.

I've got my old school tri-color hat with the correct cartoon bird. That and a standard Orioles shirt.

And any rule that would make it illegal for Brad Ausmus to "hit" is a net positive for baseball fans.

I have an extra ticket. Your wife can go with me.

Good luck tonight. I'm trying to remain positive. If the Rangers can make it past tonight, I'm thinking with the scheduling snafu of adding the new WC this could be a blessing in disguise.

I'm hoping Yu will be Yu, and Saunders will be Saunders at the BPiA. 0-6, 9+ ERA.

Either way, prayers sent.

I'm a Reds fan by birth, but always had a soft spot for the O's. But since I've lived here, the O's have officially my adopted AL team. It's been so fun this year seeing the energy (normally reserved for the Ravens) around this city for the O's. And Camden has been absolutely alive. Can't wait to see them come away with the win tonight. Surely, they have one more miracle left in them...

In short, go O's!!

oh and I'm going with "Brooke" for your daughter's name (after Brooks Robinson)

good idea, why not a DR, Desiginated Runner, we can have pinch runners at the plate to run for Prince Fielder as soon he makes contact.

Same in DC. DC will always be a Redskins town first with any reserve fandom usually delegated to the Caps (given their recent success). But this season has steadily turned Washington into more of a baseball town, and I think the culture will allow this continue even when the Nats return to mediocrity. I am fine with this change given the fact that I will always cheer for the Saints before the Skins, and I have no die hard baseball allegiance that mitigates my affection for the Nats.
