Listening to a little Strait tonight and I am going with either Amarillo by Morning or Midnight in Montgomery by Jackson.

The two worst were the Kentucky Headhunters Song (forgot title) and Billy Ray Cyrus' scam of a song.

Too many to list for best, but Keith Whitleys "I'm over You" is up there.

Vince Gill "little Liza Jane" or something is the worst.

Lot's of good ones from Strait, Yoakam, Jackson, Whitley, etc to pick just one.

One of the worst has to be "We Shall Be Free" by Garth Brooks.

Worst song nominations:
"Santa Clause is coming in a boogie woogie choo-choo train" by the Tractors (basically the same song as their one hit, but with Santa Clause inserted in there to sell a Christmas record.

"Billy Bob loves Charlene"--by Joe Diffie. This song seems to be the prototype of Country songs these days including such cheesy lines as "John Deere green" and "Raising sweet corn, kids and tomatoes". Although he did have a great song in "Prop me up beside the jukebox when I die."

I'm assuming the discussion is for Nashville, mainstream country?

I actually like the Killing Time record from Clint Black...

worst - most of it

How does one even begin to pick the worst pop-country song? There are just too many.

Almost all "country" today is worse than the worst country song of the 80s or 90s.
