Scream may have been one of the most popular, but best? Not by a long shot.

Yes, Descent and 28 Days Later are great and critically praised.

I'd throw the Blair Witch Project in there.

Insidious, yeah the last part wasn't the best, but with all horror flicks made that are crap, this one was pretty legit.

I liked the strangers, too.

I think Paranormal Activity is up there. It's hard to chose just one since most of the ones listed are worthy of discussion.

Well, first of all, it's just my OPINION!

But yes. Scream was just a slasher movie with sort of a twist that came on the heels of older ones like Halloween, TCM, etc. Blair Witch was unique...the first to look like a personal video film, NO gore but still scary as shite.

In reference to the Blair Witch Project being the first 'found footage' movie. Asshat.

No. First 30 minute was creepy but I lost it with how stupid the leads were.

Use the fricking shotgun

Drag me to hell is suprisingly awesome, if you haven't seen it.

Candyman misses the cut by less than a month, if you are one of those that enjoyed it.

Seen all of these mentioned, nothing really is scary. Some mess with me mentally like Hostel and the original Saw. Nothing beats the Exorcist, I know its older but...
