Well...where will you be. Near the Dome there is not a whole lot.

If willing to go anywhere in the city:

Parkway Bakery and Tavern
Mahoney's
Domilise's

In that order, are some good choices.

Do not go to Mother's. Anyone who tells you to go there is an idiot and/or tourist.

What's Mannings like on game days? Making my first game of the season this weekend and was thinking about heading there for lunch.

The food at Manning's is also pretty mediocre.

frick mannings. There's plenty if better food in the area. Ernst cafe, harrahs buffet, lucys, a gas station, the gutter...

As for poboys, depends on where you are. Perrans and parkway are two of the best.

Like I said, since you're driving in, go to Parkway. Get the Surf and Turf. Game over.

Have you been to central grocery? The best without competition.

Johnny's poboys in the quarter. Some of the best poboys in the city. 511 Saint Louis St- a few blocks away from Jackson square.
