Damn... figures they'd decide to renovate that shite hole after I graduate.

I hate that building.

Looks neat. I think...I dont really know yet. Half of me says that looks like garbage and the other half thinks it could be cool.

eta: looks like a facelife for the existing building. The annex looks retarded. I hate all this modern architecture.

I wonder if they'll make the numbering system on the classrooms a bit clearer. I may just be a fool, but I often got turned around in CEBA looking for offices and classrooms.

Well shit, construction doesn't start until Fall '14 and probably won't be done until Fall '16. I'll be gone by then :(

Have you tried finding an office on the third floor? It's ridiculous.

Also, link to Daily Reveille article on expansion (w/ video):

LSU Reveille .com: Jindal announces partnership to expand Patrick F. Taylor Hall

quote:

The state will enter into a $100 million dollar partnership to expand Patrick F. Taylor Hall, said Gov. Bobby Jindal announced today at a news conference in Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

The expansion will increase the building's size to 380,000 square feet and is expected to be completed in 2016.

This may have been the time I got most lost in CEBA. I was looking for a petroleum engineering department adviser's office. (I think it was on the 3rd floor). I walked around confused for 10 minutes before just asking someone (it took more than one person to get me there though )

Looks like shit, they should have stuck somewhat with the original architecture (not of the original but of the campus).

To be fair, this area of campus appears to be taking a different approach to the design:

- Business Education Complex
- Coast and Environment
- Taylor Hall Renovations and Annex

re: Renderings of the renovation/expansion to Patrick Taylor Hall (CEBA)

Here's how it works in a theoretical sense - to save you all that MBA money - just read this and you are good to go.

The story of "who is the fool?"

"Joe doesn't go to school, he is a contractor. Joe raises money for public official's re-election campaign. Official is elected and Joe is happy.

Kids go to college to learn and they think it will help them get jobs. They pay tuition.

Public official signs contract for Joe to build $100 million business school. Joe makes big bucks. Joe and public official cut ribbon and talk of virtue of higher education.

Tuition goes up. Public official talks of good deeds and announces re-election campaign.

Joe raises money for public official's re-election campaign."

Of course this is all fiction.
