LSU at Florida

Florida has had 2 road tests @ Texas A&M and @ Tennessee.

LSU has beat Top 25 Washington and won @ Auburn.

So which team has more to prove in this game?

Is Florida back? Can they be that Elite team in the SEC East again.

Has LSU's struggles the past few weeks been a fluke or a sign of things to come for this season?

Both teams have a lot to prove this weekend.

I think short term within this season it's LSU.. But long term it's Florida.

They just haven't been that dominating team people feared playing the past few years.

LSU by far.

This is supposed to be LSU's year.

UF basically has nothing to lose. They are ahead of schedule, with Driskel developing really quickly.

I agree. With the way last season ended and with all of the talent and hype heading into this season and having two "off" weeks in a row and getting blasted by the media for the most part, moving down in the polls etc., LSU needs to show the big heads that they are a good football team like theys howed in week 2 against UW. We all know LSU is very good this year, but they are very rapidly gaining more and more doubters.

All those haters will get proven wrong this week.

LSU.

You guys are supposed to play for a national title year according to tons of people.

We've already shown improvement from last year and still have South Carolina at home and Georgia in Jacksonville. Win 2 of LSU, USCe, and Georgia and our fans will be very happy with our improvement. Win 1 and we might be unhappy but we'd still be 9-2 heading into our game with FSU. Much improved.

No brainer. LSU is sucking air right now. Needs to prove critics (moi included) wrong.

UF might be the most improved team in the nation so far, when compared to last year. Like it was mentioned earlier, you guys are ahead of schedule.

2013 UF should be a nasty group to contend with, especially in year 3 of Driskel.

Definitely LSU. Expectations were through the roof coming into this year. Ranked #1 till TM7 got kicked off the team, new quarterback coming to light up the skies, etc.... Now we've won two games so unimpressively that we drop in the polls each week. (not that the polls matter now)

Florida wasn't expected to be very competitive this year and they are looking impressive.

It appears that way but I still want to see that LSU can't just run right over us. I expect LSU to be able to run but as long as we play a good game and get our stops I'll be happy (in the long run, I'll be made short term if we lose).

Yea 2013 is definitely the year we will have to make our move to get back up there with Bama and LSU and to the top of the East.

Yea this thread wasn't as much of a disrespect to LSU as much as respect to Florida.

Florida has made great strides from last year to this year from what I've seen. Started off bumpy with Bowling Green. But yall have bounced back. Florida could be that Elite team in the SEC East again.

Florida wasn't expected to be the title contender - LSU has to show that it can still be remotely similar to last year...

To wit:

"At this point last season, LSU was fourth in the nation in turnover margin and it would finish second best overall. Jump forward a year and the Tigers are ranked 30 and moving in the wrong direction. Most of this is the fault of its offense, with many of these turnovers also coming in the red zone.

At this point last season, LSU’s impressive offensive line was tenth in the nation in sacks allowed and would finish the year best in the SEC. Five games into 2012, LSU is tied for 81.

At this point, LSU has already failed to convert on more red zone opportunities than in all of 2011."

Ummmm, it's LSU. The Tigers have WON the last two weeks and have DROPPED in the polls both times. They have much to prove!

LSU. They haven't beaten a quality opponent on the road this season. Moreover, last week's effort was nothing short of atrocious.

Agreed. UF has proven a lot more about themselves so far this season than LSU. A LOT more, imho.

In my opinion, UF has already proven more than we have at this point. We must win this game if we are to prove we were worthy of the #2 ranking we once had.
