for their body of work, but they cost us the GB game more than Hartley.
Sproles catches that sideline pass past the first down marker, and we might score a TD instead of a FG, go for two and go up 35-28.
D Thomas lines up to block the end better, and he doesn't have to hold on the FG attempt, and we go up 30-28.
Not to say we don't lose anyway, but those two plays were excruciating to watch.

Then again, it shouldn't have come down to that.
We score a TD on just one of our FG drives and we possibly win outright.

1-3 after an upset AT Lambeau, and a big Sunday night home game coming up - would have been sweet.

At least we have a chance to start a win streak Sunday night and see Drew break the record, but damn we had that game...

Encouragement and a lotta hope found in that even if it was a loss. It looked a lot more like the golden age Saints we've become accustomed to.

Sometimes the hits or misses come in bunches. The outlook for the remaining season is good if repeating the +2 in turnovers and Brees 3TD/0INT performance the rest of the way

As sour as i was with the loss, i was able to still keep my head up after the game.

A lot of improvement on both sides of the ball.
Looking forward to watching Drew break the record....

I jsut wish it wouldnt be so bitter sweet for him...

when we had that first and goal in the second half late was it not at the 2 yard line? correct me if i am wrong here. Now if it was at the 2.....why in the holy hell did we not pound it 4 straight plays? or mix in a toss sweep or stretch play within those 4 runs? i think if we ran it 4 times we get a TD. 2 yards? i mean come on. even we can get that with 4 tries IMO. that was horrendous play calling by pete.

I think that we can say that a loss with those kinds of numbers is a FLUKE.

I've had to avoid this and other Saints boards over the last few weeks because of the sheer volume of moronic posts. Thanks for giving me some semblance of faith here, Blues.

What I was most frustrated with the entirety of the game. Passing plays that took 0 time off the clock and only pushed us backwards. I know weren't running the ball well at all, but damn, try something different

Yes, I think we kick the fieldgoal and it's a done deal.

exactly.... if we're 3-0 going into that game, and come out with the same result as sunday, it's business as usual..

i just think the fanbase is getting a little desperate for a win, and the team is starting to feel the same

Not even close.

Hartley is where the blame lies.

While I agree with you that there was some improvement on the defense, they still could not get pressure AT ALL, too many missed tackles, and entirely too many breakdowns in coverage. Although some of the breakdowns in coverage can be attributed to the lack of pressure.

The offense however looked much more fluid (minus all of the drops), and Drew seemed to have a much better rhythm with the calls at the line. The OL has to improve in the run game though. The more Drew has to carry the entire offense with no threat of a running game; the more int's are going to pile up.

Overall there is definitely reason to be encouraged with the team as a whole.Although the defense right now is not good enough to go anywhere. But still signs of improvement!

This game was a reminder of the old Saints. Just when you get excited and expect a win they blow it. If they keep this up season tickets will open up.
