Has this been attempted? I'm willing to try unless several failed attempts have been made at it. If by some chance we could get it kicked off it could turn out to be pretty helpful. It could be a great way to discover rising stars in the market that haven't received much press yet.

Ah, gotcha. I wasn't thinking along the lines of one single stock though. Just a thread where folks could post anything they're watchin that shows promise.

Providing stock symbols with no discussion is total garbage and reeks of "pump and dump" when you list penny stocks.

Keep an eye out on AMRN (Amarin Corporation).

Taken from their site:
quote:

Amarin Corporation plc is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the commercialization and development of therapeutics to improve cardiovascular health. Amarin's product development program leverages its extensive experience in lipid science and the potential therapeutic benefits of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vascepa ™ (icosapent ethyl) capsules is Amarin's first FDA approved product

AMRN is a STRONG buyout candidate. Using the "Forecast" feature on CNN Money, 9 analysts offering 12 month projections have the low at $21.50.

The current share price is $12.48.

*DISCLAIMER* I have no position in AMRN, nor am I a financial advisor, I actually make maps for a living. However, if I was still in the market I would probably own some AMRN. Also, AMRN is a biotech so it is not for the faint of heart as it will have big moves up and down on no news.

I am a GIS Manager for a local planning commission. Wards, Districts, all the basic stuff you would expect to receive by going to your local municipality planning office.

The cool part of my job is when I do custom maps. For example, ArcGIS (mapping prgram I use) has an extension called Network Analyst. Well, the EMS was looking at adding another station so we went in and determined their coverage areas based on traveling at 45 mph (the average speed they use) for 5 minutes. Indeed, the map showed a lack of coverage in the area they were looking for and a new station was put in the budget. Some other custom maps would be rooftops, preliminary lots, etc., all within a certain radius of an intersection, interstate off ramp, etc. to recruit retail.

Its a fun job.

Interesting tip. I added it to my watch list & will keep an eye on it.

And I've never known a map maker. Sounds like a kick arse job.

Another one to keep an eye since it looks like you like penny stocks is CPRX. Another biotech that specializes in addiction pills.

CPRX was fast-tracked by the FDA to give results at the end of September for Phase II results of their cocaine addiction pill. The stock was around 2.00 then they had a stock offering at 1.50, before the results they were to give. To me, I took that as a bullish sign and bought in at 1.50 and 1.33 after the decline of the offering. I rode it up to a little over 2 and made good money. Luckily, I got out before the results were announced.

The results were announced and they were delayed until November. I quit following after I got out so I have no idea where they stand now.

One thing I have learned in the short time I was trading, is sell before the big announcement. Ride the runup, sell before the big event. In the biotech sector anyways.

I mention this one because a runup could be in store into November.

Another one that will always hold a special place in my heart is ARNA and its fat pill. Made really good money on it back in May and June. It is still awaiting DEA approval and the pill should hit the market at the beginning of 2013. Another buyout candidate here.

Also, a good place to see what others are doing, thinking, etc. is Stocktwits. As with any online message board, you have to sift through the shite to get some good info, but it is out there. Fat Wallet has a "Individual Stock Discussion thread" as well that is good. A lot of options traders over there so they lose me a lot of the time, but also some good posters over there. David Scubadiver, posters name over there, has really good info and has done really well if you track his trades.

*DISCLAIMER* I have no position in any of the stocks mentioned above, nor am I a financial advisor, I actually make maps for a living.

I used to frown upon biotechs & penny stocks in general. But I had a really really good run with MDVN that ended up making some good money. I still haven't cashed in. I keep bumping my stop loss up every few weeks or so waiting on it to fall but it's still rising. It's hooked me into looking for the next one.

Nice bump... And a nice reminder of why I do not mess in the market much.

It is at $8.63 now. They announce they were releasing Vascepa on their own and investors jumped ship when they realized a buyout is not coming. It actually dipped below $8 and I strongly considered buying. Still have it on my watch list but no plans to buy it.
