Yes we still had a few mistakes here and there but overall our execution seems to be getting better and Drew looked sharper. Our O line held up fairly well considering some circumstances. Playing hard and competing is good enough for me this year.

i was too chad... anytime you hold green bay to 28 points @ lambeau, you should have a decent chance to win... say what you want about the defense, they actually gave us a chance to win, we just didn't capitalize

I don't know what to say...I mean, David Thomas is the last guy I would expect to hold on a game winning field goal, but here we are. This is your team for 2012.

Drew looked awesome. I couldn't believe the passes he was making over the middle. When they would show the replays i was shocked at how small of a window he had to drop the ball in to get it to the receiver...and guys were, for the most part, actually catching the ball. Defense showed flashes of stability but ultimately the reason we couldn't get ahead.

Yeah even my dad who has been negative every game finally wasn't negative once about the game yesterday.

Very encouraging to see the Saints play so well against GB at Lambeau.

I agree. I actually think we played as good if not better as season opener last year. Unlike many I actually can see the defense improving as the year goes on IF they do not get too down and mail it in. Since this year seems like it'll be a wash I'd like to see how Morgan develops and learns to run routes.

It was a game I actually enjoyed since Brees was back in his old rhythm, just wish the outcome was different obviously.

Offense looked back to it's old self(minus not being able to run the ball and still some drops) and the defense even looked better just you can only play coverage against Rodgers for so long.

Better O-line play had Drew looking like himself, thus the Saints looked like they usually do. Still need to clean up on the drops though.

exactly... if we came into this game 3-0, i think that everyone would have been more likely to accept this defeat... however, we still haven't gotten off the schnide and people are still freaking out (understandably so)

who dat

That should bet us to the playoffs....its time to get some help on defense. That will be our only shot next year. Defense's know what Brees can do so we need to mix it up on defense.

Probably hold or get the kick blocked.

Said this last week. Up until yesterday Drew was getting tossed around like a David Carr test dummy. Amazing what a little protection can do for your passing efficiency.

Do you think that the way they competed yesterday gives hope for a miraculous turnaround?

I completely agree with you on this, I enjoyed them putting together a respectable effort. Most people had GB winning this game in a blow out, but it came down to the very end.

Does this boost morale and give the team confidence to get on a roll, or will the heartbreak continue? I think this game might signify them getting over the hump, it might come down to it being too late though. I can see this team winning 10 of the next 12 as possible, but the margin for error is so small now.

i think an 8-8 record should be our realistic ceiling. I don't see them getting to 10 wins and 9 might be a bit difficult. I think this will continue to be a tough season for them and each week that goes by, it'll be tough for this team to keep competing and fighting like the rest of the league will that has something to play for. This team is capable of beating anybody, unfortunately they are also capable of losing to anybody.

This start kind of reminds me of the team a few years back that lost in nearly every way possible. The saints aren't getting blown out of these games. They're competing which is promising at least. There's just some major holes that need too be filled. One off year could turn out to be good in the long run

I was too, if Sproles doesn't drop that pass on 3rd down maybe the Saints win. Biggest difference from my stand point this year on O has been the drops by the recieving corps.
