I re-watched this 1980's gem last night. Anybody else love this movie? How about Lowdon scoring with some older transient strange

easily one of my top 10 sports movies. "My name’s Louden, Louden Swain. Last week I turned 18, I wasn't ready for it…I haven’t done anything yet, so I made this deal with myself. This is the year I make my mark." "But all I ever settled for is that were born to live and then to die, and... we got to do it alone, each in his own way. And I guess that's why we got to love those people who deserve it like there's no tomorrow. Cause when you get right down to it - there isn't." Plus Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider LINK

Anyone else think it's weird that Louden didn't have any friends? Cooch was about the closest thing to a friend he seemed to have

My second favorite Linda Fiorentino movie behind The Last Seduction. Where the hell did she disappear to? Hmmmmm....

She was already 40 when she did Dogma... Bet she had a kid and settled down. I like that she won her role in Men in Black in a poker game. She had Barry Sonnefeld on the ropes on an all-in and beat him... got the part.

He was a warrior-monk, dedicated to wrestling. But he was pretty tight with the Native American dude, and the cook(?) at the hotel.

Little known trivia is that in the book he was dying of cancer and wanted to make himself a legend by beating Shute. In the book it has a different take on all the weight loss.

end of the book never tells of his match or its outcome. It is just some inner dialogue he has with himself. She is there to watch the match in the book. There are a lot of differences in the book as I recall. I know there is a remake approved with that chick frome Twilight being in it.

Louden Swain: But all I ever settled for is that we're born to live and then to die, and... we got to do it alone, each in his own way. And I guess that's why we got to love those people who deserve it like there's no tomorrow. 'Cause when you get right down to it - there isn't. this quote was how the movie ended but it isnt in the book.
