I was kind of nervous where they were going to take the show, but after this episode I think I will be happy with it

Can someone in here answer a question that has been bugging me (it might be obvious and I just missed it, but with so many details I am losing track).
Why does Regina/Evil Queen care so much for/love Henry?
She is this ultimate villain and evil power, and all of her plans would be perfect if she didn't give a crap about the little kid.
It's not even her son, and is the son of the one person that can stop her. He is constantly messing up all of her plans and she knew he was doing everything he could to undermine her...but yet she keeps making decisions based on his well being and for his "love"

I think she's trying to appeal to his emotional side. She knew if Emma appeared better to her than she did, the curse might be broken.

Eh. They really needed some color in this show.

there has to be something more to it
wasn't Henry her dad's name? maybe it is somewhat connected to that?
she killed her dad, her trusted friend, etc but she won't kill the little kid who is undermining her and literally the only one that can mess up her plans? it makes no sense unless she actually does love him...but why is that? hopefully they answer it
