This still baffles me. Towson had the ball and it was second down. Why in the world do you call a timeout to give them an extra play.

There would have been a total melt down if Towson had scored on the next play or if we had gotten a D Lineman hurt defending that run play.

There was nothing that could have been gained by Les calling that timeout and plenty that could have been lost.

It was 3rd down. Probably hoping for an incomplete pass and a shot at a punt return.

Eh, not that big of a deal to me. Mike Leach pulled the same move, then when they gave up a 15 yd run with a holding call, he elected to decline the penalty and go to the half. But if it lets y'all keep the meltdown going, by all means carry on

What's worse to me is the constant dropping to a knee at the end of every game. Especially last night.

This is college football, you play the game for 60 damn minutes. This taking a knee shite is ridiculous, whether you are winning or losing. It's pussified.

We made the tackle with 23 seconds left. He let 10 seconds run off and then called it.

My bad.

Let me clarify for you, MCSquared16.

I meant with 1:30 left in the game.

Smart call by Les.

You force them out of passing. They don't want to pass and stop the clock with an incompletion and then have another disaster punt.

They have to run to bleed the clock and go into halftime without punting again.

(Some facts given in the OP are not correct.)

Shot at a punt return?

Our defense in the past has been able to make turnovers?

You should call the les miles show and complain about taking a knee at the end of the game. I think we're the only football team AT ANY LEVEL that does this.

Remains to be seen, since Leach's similar move was LAST NIGHT against Oregon before the half.

We have a lot to be thankful for as fans of LSU football, but offensive coordination and clock management, unfortunately, are not included in that number.

I wouldn't have bothered starting a thread about it, but since you brought it up, I'll add to your observation.

I haven't rewatched yet, but as I recall, we had the ball on the possession prior to the half with less than two minutes with a first down in the red zone. We run for a 2 yd gain, then call a TO with 1:38 on second down. Incomplete pass, then a swing pass to Hill that leads him out of bounds. We kick the FG, and give them the ball back with maybe 1:13 left before half.

That has to be worst case scenario clock management right there. The TO with :13 seconds left actually falls right in line with expected behavior from a Miles coached team. It is what it is.

There is no way this is a smart call.

Im not sure they could have gotten lined up and the ball snapped in :12 seconds
