Dunno if that is the reason although I can't quite get why he was going to do it. I do think that something stinks in Denmark though. They wouldn't kill a sitting Congressman just like that if only because he was a traitor (even though he was now working for them as a double).
If it ever got out that somebody the government itself pushed into a high official position was at one point a terrorist... It would be a huge stain on their collective credibility and cause all kinds of havoc at every level. Easier to erase the mistake than risk it ever becoming public.

I found it strange that Quinn leaves and says that he will be back in a half hour. He makes a quick bus ride and then changes to another bus to meet Dar Adul. Does this mean that Dar Adul is basically sitting on top of the operations center where they are watching Brody? Surely they could not have arranged the meet and met within 30 minutes unless he was almost on the same site. Quinn left right after the call from his ex, so it was not a prearranged meet.
Also, if Estes is completely informed about Quinn's participation then why did Quinn have to have the quick meet with Dar Adul?
Finally, if they wanted to be so secretive about the meeting, it would not have taken place in a well lit bus so that the cousin could photograph them together.
This all leads to the conclusion that they want Saul to know about Dar Adul's involvement. Otherwise, I think the black ops guys would have been a little more careful. My guess is that there is a plan by Adul and Estes to also take out Walden for some reason yet to be revealed. No way they put Walden in a situation that they were not completely sure of what was going to happen unless they also want Walden gone.
Short of that, I am just completely confused at this point.

I think the writers just needed a way to introduce Dar Adul. Seemed like a story-telling set piece more than anything.

Interesting, but I don't think so. Walden holds the keys to Estes' movement up the chain. Estes' only motivation in my mind is to make it to CIA director. Saul and Estes will be butting heads for the rest of the season because they clearly are operating with different mindsets.
Walden and Brody's families are the targets coming up IMO.

Great episode. Got a feeling Saul is gonna be biting a bullet soon.

I'm thinking Estes and Walden want Brody and Saul dead b/c of their knowledge of drone strike. They can't have that information go public

Does anyone else think Brodi tipped off Nazir into not being in that vehicle?
I do.
I think it was all part of Nazir's plan.

I think that's a bit extreme.
Saul and Estes have been working together for years. They may not agree on principles right now, but they have a relationship.
The Estes/Walden combo may want to discredit Saul (and maybe get him demoted or transferred) because he has different viewpoints from war mongering Walden, but killing him seems unlikely.
Obviously Estes and Walden don't trust Saul right now, or believe he will do what it takes to "kill terrorists".
I think it's just a matter of Saul's viewpoint (thoughtful, big picture) and Estes viewpoint (killing terrorist at all costs).

Why did Saul make it so obvious that he was tracking Quinn? He obviously intended for Quinn to find out. Why? I am sure Quinn's lady said "it was an older guy with a funny hat and salt & pepper beard that was asking questions about you"

Saul isn't doing anything wrong, no point of hiding anything.
Estes/Quinn are the ones betraying Saul's trust and working behind his back.

because he wanted to see who quinn would go to when he found out that he was being looked into.
he needed quinn to know, so he would react immediately

Wouldn't it make more sense for it to look like an accident if the CIA wanted Brody dead?
Posted on 11/28/12 at 9:49 am to brbengalgal
I really hated the limo scene at the end. Brody should have been suspicious when the driver didn't get out to open the door for him. That is SOP for any limo pickup. Hell, you'll never see that in another show/movie again.
