bobbyray, I had a listen to what you posted and a few more. Most of it was very listenable and a couple of the artists have me intrigued to dig a little further. This is a solid list. Thanks.

The only reason I know a lot of these artists is through the GF. I really like some of it but the genre is definitely mood specific.

I have not heard a lot in this genre, more because I don't have any in my 1.2 TB music library which I seem to get stuck in, than anything else. This will give me an opportunity and some direction to explore a new genre for me.

And thanks for the heads up on your moodiness. Do you and the GF cycle together?

Ellie is good, but she's not good enough to just run away with this.

I just got a pogoplug and so I've got my own little terabyte in the sky. Once I figure out how to designate folders for sharing -- while keeping all my Lacey Duvalle porn in private folders -- I can hook you up with pretty much all of Stars and Santigold, and most if not all of Little Dragon, Robyn, Metric, and Feist.

ETA: What format are your audio files in? WAV, FLAC, 320kbps MP3, AAC?

Robyn's stuff is a paradigm of electropop. It's an unofficial genre as it is, but whatever it is that electropop sounds like, it sounds like Robyn. I saw her at Bonnaroo and it was a great show. She's a tiny girl. I'm thinking like 4-10, 90lbs. But she rocks out when she's on stage.

I have only listened to Metric's most recent album, and I loved it. They're on my list of groups to back-listen.

Little Dragon chick has a mindblowingly good voice (here is another track I like: shuffle a dream). Big Boi is apparently a big fan of hers as well, as she co-wrote three tracks off his most recent album, and was featured on all three until a business/legal issue between their respective labels caused her to be pulled off Mama Told me and replaced with Kelly Rowland. But she did several live performances before it got ixnayed and she did it better than kelly (though I'd rather have sex with kelly). Big Boi ft. Little Dragon -- Mama Told me (Live)

Of every artist/group in the list, Ellie is the one I've heard the least of. I've never actually heard one of her albums in its entirety. I guess I should get on that.

Thank God protein stains don't get on 0's and 1's. Protein stains are the worst.

320 MP3.

I have most of my library in 320 mp3 as well, though I keep WAV or FLAC versions of most of my classical collection in addition including my 26 versions of Mozart's Requiem.

All good. I didn't like this type of music at all when it started to come on the scene but it is growing on me. I am notorious for that tho, I will never ever like a song the first time I hear it.
