What? That was one of the best cold opens in The Office history, right up there with Dwight doing karate against himself.

Shirley, you can't be serious.

I dno't like when they make the characters OVERLY stupid. Dwight is actually pretty intelligent, but they make him start believing that Jim is asian? Sometimes I can stretch it and laugh, like Dwight chasing down all 500 feet or whatever of that red wire Jim connected to his computer that time...I could see Dwight being so pissed that he'd want to find out where it went. But last night was too much.

It's just like they used to do with Michael. Obviously he's a smart guy, just socially awkward and trying too hard sometimes. So when he is listening to the GPS and literally turning into a lake, it's too forced and stupid. The cold opening last night was the same kind of thing IMO.

Different strokes I guess.

I agree with most of your points, but not this.

Michael is not that smart at all.
He's a good salesman and even motivator, but he lacks common sense.
And anyway, that episode, Michael was super-pissed off about losing his clients to other companies with webpages.
So, he was extremely angry and I think he wanted to blame his problems on technology.
Which he did later, claiming that technology tried to drown him in a lake.
