True or False?
The Florida game is the hinge on which the LSU football season will turn.

I say true. A loss there would really throw a wet stinky blanket on the rest of the season, and could turn the season to a few losses and a second level bowl... But a win, and the whole thing sets up for a run-the-table year. Discuss.

PS - sorry to overlook Towson... I see this has upset a few people on the Rant to the point of exclamation point excess....

I had a dream last night that we lost the florida game. I am emotionally prepared for defeat.

Yeah - I am getting too fat to go too far out on any thin limbs...

Seriously though... one could make the argument that we can lose at Florida and run the table and still end up in the SEC championship game. Right?

A loss and we can prob kiss the west goodbye. I actually like where we are right now, as far a perception outside the state. We're "vulnerable". I believe Auburn was the wake up call. When players like Sam publicly come out and discuss changes in attitude, approach, & work ethic, you know that the players are listening and evaluating their performance. They know they can be better. That's the important thing moving forward. As I said before, fla will approach this as their "we're back" opportunity. A solid Lsu performance should quiet the naysayers and make a lot of us feel a little more at ease.

bama > gators
so if loose to gators likely loose to bama
10-2 season
so got to beat gators to stay in the hunt.
Lots of variables in the equation but that is my take on it

The Gators are off this week, that is they have two weeks to prepare for LSU.
This is the big test before Bama in November......

Not really. If you're saying the players won't play as well the rest of the season, I can't really gauge that. But, it really has NO effect on the SEC race. If we lose there and win out, we make the title game. It's always better to lose to your cross-divisional rival as opposed to anyone in your division in case it comes down to a tie break.

Oh, and remember, during both of Urban's title runs at UF in 2006 and 2008, he lost to a lesser opponent from the West (Auburn 2006; Ole Miss 2008).

Fla, USC, A&M stretch will all have a say in this season
If LSU plays like they did against Auburn they could lose all three especially since two are on the road.

Some teams personalities do not adapt to the road and hopefully that is not the case with this team.

I think we'll see a much better effort in Gainesville.

I thought the auburn game was the hinge game. Having players ratchet up their chin straps for a very hostile crowd and a pumped up team.

It's an important game no doubt, but we would still have the opportunity to play in the SEC championship game. It would be a tough loss no doubt.

I worry more about the USCe game than Fla. Both will be great tests for this team and if we can overcome both, I think we beat Bama and all is well.

I hate to think along these lines, , but we can still lose to Florida and then run the table and still win the NC.

If we are not going to play well and lose a game, this or S.Caro is where you want to lose. We can lose here and still win the West, SEC, and NC

i don't think are as fragile as that. if we lose that game, we could still run the table for an 11-1 record. winning it doesn't guarantee a 12-0 either. we play bama, usc and msu at home. playing this florida team in the swamp will be a problem. they have a damn good defense, a decent offense and the home field advantage. it will be a slobbernocker with lsu winning it IF we commit zero turnovers.
