So I have the game. The camera angle did not change from the demo but for some reason the release copy was playable. I really enjoyed playing last night and had to force myself to quit

The camera angle didn't bother me as much in Leon's as the other 2. But in the other 2 (especially Chris') it felt like I was just spinning and firing at random. I couldn't see what was attacking me until I'd already been hit a couple times.

I told you!

There was no way to change it that quick.I don't think they can change it at all.
Supposedly in that article you linked there is a level of "customization". Check that out and report back soldier.

There is some customization but nothing anyone would give to fricks about I don't think. I'll play with it a little tonight and let you guys know more

This game is so damn dark sometimes it pisses me off. I can't even see what's right in front of me. Maybe I need to Tweek my tv settings more..I'm not sure yet. Either everything is to bright and you have a white tint on screen or its so dark you can barely navigate. Now for the good.

The action is pretty captivating right off the bat. My gf even put her book down to watch and that's saying something

The opening sequence is in a facility that progresses you to an open street which worked well with the camera. Gameplay there was not bad at all. For some reason the demo part of the game which Comes right after the opening sequence is just a shitty design i think. I'll have more info later this is all from playing for about 30-40 min last night.

I had to adjust the brightness on my tv for the demo.

Early reviews for RE6 aren't all that great.

Out of 10...

EuroGame: 6
IGN: 7.9
The Verge: 4
Gamespot: 4.5
Destructoid: 3
Edge: 6

Some snippets:

quote:

Resident Evil 6 is a shape-shifter. It’s an oversized behemoth. It’s a franchise-diminishing disappointment. More than anything, Resident Evil 6 is a compromise – a desperate, ugly bid to appeal to as many people as possible.

quote:

But how far can cinematics get you when the gameplay sandwiched between them is so poorly paced, so utterly misconceived, so reliant on stick wriggles and button tapping? There's a place for contextual prompts and cinematic storytelling in video games, but Resident Evil 6 is a mishmash of elements put together without any sense of care or direction.

quote:

If any consistently good thing can be said of Resident Evil 6, it's that it has made Paul W.S. Anderson's film adaptations look like fine works of art in comparison.

quote:

It's not enough to say that Resident Evil 6 is poor as a Resident Evil game. That alone implies there could be a quality experience if fans can get past their preconceptions and feelings of betrayal. No, Resident Evil 6 is poor by the standards of any game, not just the high ones set by its own legacy. This is unexceptional tripe that becomes insulting once the woeful missteps come into play. Resident Evil 6 is not just a step back for the series, it's a step back for common garden, unassuming action-shooters.

Anybody got the umbrella umbrella with RE6? My copy should be waiting for me when I get home along with the umbrella.

I enjoyed the demo, but the comment from that article about it trying to appeal to too many different things was spot on. Its like they realize that they're getting away from their roots so they just keep one story in that resembles a shadow of what the games used to be. When I played the Chris storyline, i felt like i was playing a 3rd person COD. I mean cmon man this is Resident Evil.

If you're going to try and appeal to the different masses, just make entirely different games. They tried the run and gun thing with whatever that game was called that came out between 5 and now, and that looked horrible. If you want to put that out, fine, go ahead. But at least keep the numbered series true to what made people enjoy the game in the first place.
