I would vote yes. Legit outfit. Transcended the metal genre. Ive had enough, weve had enough. Ratt n Roll.

This is a legit thread. RATT was on the verge of something big at he time Nevermind hit. Pretty much took the wind out of the sail.

RATT was one of the reasons Nirvana was so refreshing. RATT was warmed over crap with all the musical originality of Nickelback.

It doesnt matter if he is. This board went down a few notches just by mentioning RATT

In Baltimore in the 80s, Kix was referred to as the "Baltimore Beatles". Which I think explains why, as a kid in suburban Maryland, I got into the DC hardcore scene.

Do not get me wrong. I liked RATT a lot and still go for them in the right mood. "Lay it Down" is one of the hardest non-metal songs I have ever heard. Steven's voice was definitely more unique than most's.
I group them in with the REAL hair metal bands. No Brittany Foxx, Trixter, White Lion, Stryper, or Europe in that category. Ratt, Kix, Hurricane, and WASp were nothing alike, but they are the 80's hair rock bands who I think were actually legit and had TRUE musicians. Add Cinderella to that category when they wanted to play a cool song and not a cheap ballad (Gypsy Road was a very good song as far as what went in it).
RATT is one of the heavier hair rock bands that is for sure. They had a commanding presence, too.
