Mett through 4 games: 63/93, 67.7%, 8.37 YPA, 778 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT.

Russell through 4 games in 2005: 72/113, 63.7%, 7.78 YPA, 880 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT.

Russell finished that season 188/311, 60.5, 2,443 yards, 7.85 YPA, 15 TD, 9 INT

Mett's accuracy seems to be quite a bit better. He's also generating more big plays with less receiving talent (no Bowe, Doucet, Buster).

I think it's a bit premature to completely poo-poo the passing game.

Remains to be seen if Mett has 'less receiving talent'....OD Jr may end up being the best of the whole lot.

He's gonna have to get over his serious case of the Dwayne Bowe dropsies first.

Maybe he needs LASIK.

This. He is the perfect example of a guy that can make the toughest catches but drops the simple ones.

He has to be able to catch consistently

I'm not sure that kadron Boone isn't a better option right now

Interesting post, looks like Russell had a harder schedule but good seeing the comparison. Here's hoping Mett lights it up for the rest of the season

Not to be nit picky, but those weren't Jamarcus' first 4 starts were they? He did start some in 04 correct?

Based on?

He threw more passes.

Mett's been in control though. Moving us in and out of no-huddle, making his own line checks and reads.

I don't think he's handicapped the way both of the previous two guys were.

Don't forget Jamarcus started 4 games in 2004 while these are Mett's first starts.

Also led an 80 yard game winning touchdown drive on the road in hostile territory, the first game after the Katrina fiasco. He completed a phenomenal game winning TD pass on a 4th and 10 in that game as well.
