Chicken & Waffles just doesn't sound all that great to me.

I saw that Advocate thread a few days ago about this dish. I've never had C & W's, am I missing out on something?

I've never had them either. It sounds nasty.

Hey, have you guys had pizza or hamburgers?

It's awesome if you like sweet and salty. I threw a poor bachloer version together Sunday morning. Leftover Popeyes and a couple fresh out the toaster eggos.

So you put butter and syrup on the waffle and then fried chicken? Ewwwwww
It reminds me that I always freaks me out when someone puts jelly on a sausage biscuits. That is SO wrong.

Popeye's spicy 2 piece and 3 Eggo's. Spicy chicken skin with a little Steen's syrup on it from the waffles is the bee's knees

That just doesn't sound good to me at all but thanks for the info.

Jelly on a sausage biscuit is wrong?
Well the South will never rise again if we are that far gone.

You have it all the time. It's one of the more common flavor combinations. Savory and sweet.
You people are funny folks.

Don’t know about chicken and waffles but I can vouch for fried quail and sweet potato waffles. Had it at LeCreole a while back. It was toped w/ bourbon cane syrup and it was delish! If you ever go there get it, you will not be disappointed.

To me it is, it just seems to be a weird flavor combination.

I do like savory and sweet of the Asian variety. I can't think of any other right at the moment.

Well you need to broaden your horizons because it's all over the global culinary map.

If jelly on a biscuit is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Glazed ham
BBQ
Two prime examples
Adding sugar to a bolegnese
Sweet buns and hamburgers
Sweet and sour chicken
The list goes on and on.

I've seen catfish and waffles in addition to chicken and waffles.
