It seems like You could plug almost any QB into lineup and get the same results. While that is admittedly a broad generalization it has credibility.

Our offense is QB-shy. The coaching, scheme etc seem to have marginalized the position.

Almost like the expectation is for the defense to win the game; the offense is more an afterthought. Last year Special Teams was part of that same victory equation; the offense was taken out of it in and after the first Alabama game.

Almost as though they are trying to ensure that no one player is indispensable and still try to be competitive on a national scale!!!

You are correct to an extent. LSU wants to grind it out on offense and play great defense. It has proven to be a great formula for winning.

Mett has played 4 games and IMO has played great for what he has been asked to do. Anyone who expected him to come in and look like a heisman contender in his first 4 games is just retarded.

He needs to improve on a few things but that should come with experience.

How quickly we forget last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before that.

For the love of God people. STFU about the QB position. We have a stud there now, let him at least get half a season of starts before you pretend he is equivalent to last year's cluster.

Good God man, you are ridculously stupid.
Besides the fumbles, I thought Mett was borderline outstanding. You can fix fumbles...it's hard to fix the ability to hit an open target. Mett hit his targets. Besides drops, Mett was almost perfect passing the ball the first half. With the roll-outs and drops the second half, he stats didn't look good, but he damn sure hit his receivers!

I love hearing people act like they're intelligent or just generally holier-than-thou when responding to this subject.

The stud we have has us ranked 96th in America is passing offense IIRC.

In other words, perhaps it's not the talent at the position, but the heavy-handed limitations this offense puts on anyone who plays said position.

If Mett is a stud, and he's hovered at around 70% completion and we're STILL in the 90's, then talent isn't the issue. It's scheme, Lynn Brollins.

Really don't believe the OP is Calling out the QB Or saying he is equal to last year. I believe he is calling out the offensive scheme in which I believe is pretty bad. I understand people will say defense has worked good for us, look at our record, but why does the defense have to bust their arse for us to win. It would be good for the offense to pull some weight.

the mans got a very accurate and strong arm. we just got to fill in the rest of the equation ie OL protection and receiver catching the ball and we can be very successful. Unfortunately this is not as simple as it sounds. Injuries on OL are great effecting our play, as well as not having a consistently open go to receiver. where is this years reuben randle?

True, and if all our receivers keep dropping balls, it doesn't matter who's in there

Though, I will say, I disagree. I think the coaches seemed much more willing to throw on any down and threw on first down quite a bit.

Good point. I agree. We could stick Drew Brees back there and it wouldnt net us any more passing plays because Les &Co. refuse to let a QB be a playmaker until he's forced to on 3rd and long. Any passes thrown before third down seem to only be toward the sideline rather than downfield. This inflates any qb's numbers because of all the easy short throws.

Then you get little retards that come on TD and troll anyone with a realistic view and say "well look at this completion %"

theyre the same trolls saying "all is ok, we won the game"

the passing scheme was fine people. The blocking sucked and the receivers dropped too many passes. OB should have caught that long pass. It was a beautiful throw and well timed play call. The scheme didn't fumble the ball twice. And the scheme didn't drop any passes.

There were 4 or 5 dropped passes, and not very much pass blocking... Wtf would you have Mett do?? Throw the pass, then run down field and catch it??? Mett has a cannon, and throws well, WR have to man up and catch the ball.

Did any of you happen to see Matt Barkley against Stanford. That is a great example of how a horrible offensive line can make a Heisman calibur QB look like a hapless school child. Enough said!

obj has not played well so far. i'm thinking he has to much to do and needs to focus solely on being a no. 1 wr. we took kickoff from him and I'm thinking we need a different punt returner. don't know who that would be but not landry. he needs to focus on wr duties also.

no way. against cupcakes maybe but to beat the best teams on our schedule the qb position is one of the most important, if not most important on the field.
