How did Chris Elliot spawn that girl? She's way good looking.

There has to be more to this episode. After all, it does end with his shite on fire in the street.

ETA: Nevermind, that must be the ending to a different episode.

I thought it was alright. The Tyson stuff was funny.

Ted will be dating the psycho until the wedding more than likely, but we can't meet the mother until then anyway so that doesn't bother me

Pretty meh, not one of their best. I've really liked this season, but this one kinda fell flat. There weren't really any major LOL moments, there was a ton of ted and robin, and not very much barney. That's not a recipe for success.

That's how I felt. I have actually liked this season, but I thought last night's episode was pretty bad. Between the constant flashes to Robin and Lilly and Ted adding to his story, I felt like the episode really dragged. I know Ted is pretty much universally hated on here, but he was at a new level of retardedness last night.

It's a comedy so ultimately an episode's success is measured by only one thing: is it funny? I don't think it was the funniest episode ever, but I got my share of laughs out of the episode, so I'm happy. But I'm not as obsessed with "moving the plot". Last week's episode was roundly praised as being one of the best, and it didn't advance the plot either. It was just really funny. Which is all that really matters.

I did prefer the B-plot this week. I thought Robin's storytelling technique was a nice in joke of the show commenting on itself, how it slowly parses out details to change the meaning of things that we've already seen. I tend to like meta commentary, so the joke worked for me, and it explicitly commented on the A-story of Ted slowly parsing out details as well. (And I always like flashback jokes, Segal cracking about the wise old lady with the face tattoo, a detail he could only know if he SAW the flashback which he obviously didn't, is the kind of joke HIMYM specializes in.)

Definitely the funniest part of the episode, mainly because we used to do that to our roomate all the time in college.

Like some have said, I don't know who Ted IRL fricked over, but those writers clearly hate him. He used to be kinda dorky, now he's one of the biggest turbo-douches in movie history.
