I think it works well enough. If anything, I'm happy about it because it means that Ted doesn't end up with her, cuz frick Ted.

But Barney said it perfectly last night...he's banged every slut in the tri-state area. It's time for him to finally move on and grow up, so to speak. And he connects with Robin. I know everybody loves Barney's character and all that, but nobody stays like that forever. shite, those sluts you knew in college, the frat dudes who were never sober, the friend you had who's only goal in life was to frick girls...all of them eventually grow up and get past all that and settle down, get married, have a family, etc. It only makes sense that "life" happens to Barney as well.

Great job by Ranjit last night

agreed. Also, it's pathetic if they don't change. No one likes the 40 year old hitting on college girls. It's creepy. He has to move forward because staying still is actually moving backwards. And Barney has always been sentimental underneath his bro exterior.

I like the Barney and Robin together thing too.
I think they are good together.

And even Barney 'settling' down was awesome, almost, legen...wait for it...dary.

The proposal setup, and execution.
The hidden cameras in his apartment and Marshall and Lilly's.

That's deep....

The way they wrote last night's episode was great because it allowed Barney to grow up, but still remain "Barney".

Broxterior? Exbrorier?

And yeah, Robin has been the same way if you think about it...she acts all hardcore about shite, but deep down doesn't really believe it. Like the kids thing...she NEVER wanted kids, hates kids, etc. But the same day she found out she couldn't have kids, her whole outlook on that changed. Same thing with Barney. He's all bro'd out, but deep down he is a good guy who wants good things to happen for himself.

If anything, it makes me kinda respect the whole Quinn storyline. That is oe of the biggest things that showed Barney that he was finally starting to get to where he was ready and wanted to settle down, and that he would be okay with doing it and leaving his "bro" lifestyle behind him.

This is why I believe the theory that Barney's sister is the mother. That way it's not just a random person. It has to either be a person like that who is either related to one of the main characters or has some type of connection to a previous story.

Well, we know she was the roommate of the student he dated. She has also been at several other events that Ted has attended. This show likes to go back and show the alternative view of various events.

They could easily make a whole episode of all the times they were in the same room together without even knowing. Also, they have to explain the yellow umbrella.

I too think it's gonna be Barney's sister. They will show all the flashbacks to prior episodes and how she and Ted just missed each other and explain how she was in all these places

Barney's sister? When have they mentioned Barney has a sister? Don't you think this character would have interacted with the group, since his brother James has. Also why wouldn't Barney know who her room mate was, Rachel Bilson's character and that his own sister was at the college when some idiot professor (Ted Mosbey) walked in the wrong room and started teaching. It'd be weak for the writers to just throw Barney's sister in at the wedding and say, boom it's her.

When he visited his biological father's family they said the sister was away at college. It's his step sister that he's never met before.

They mentioned she is away at college. For all we know, Barney might not have even met her yet. There has been no evidence on the show that he has.

It seems pretty obvious that it is her.

It's an off handed comment in a single episode. It's easy to miss.

It is, but alarm bells went off in my head as soon as it was said. It seemed really obvious to me. And my gf who was watching it with me said the same thing.

I'd be shocked if it isn't her.

I dont know if any of yall saw the twitter chat with the Series creator last night, but one of the question was asked about the resolution to the slap bet, etc. The creator said that they had a bucket list of things they wanted to do before the show ended, but they weren't sure if this would be the last season or not. The only way, and I mean only way, I'd support another season is if Josh Segal comes back, and we meet the mother at the end of this season, so they can show the audience why this girl is different and "the one". I wouldn't mind seeing Barney and Robin's first year of marriage, either. Bound to be some funny stuff there.

But if the closing scene of this season ends up being just another cliffhanger, and they were to drag this on for another 23 episodes, I think I'd give it up and just watch the finale.

So yal think Barney invites his dad to the wedding and the dad brings his half-sister? I guess that's possible. It's been a while since I saw the dad episodes, but I thought I remembered them ending on bad terms.

I guess I could see Barney maturing and inviting his dad.

Probably. And if they don't they're wasting a perfectly good opportunity to bring back John Lithgow.

Who's to say they actually get married? Robin shows cold feet right before the wedding. Who knows if there will actually be a wedding in that future episode.
