I've watched our Oline play average all year against below average opponents. After watching them seriously struggle Saturday against a not so good Auburn team i have concerns for our strength at Oline throughout the rest of our season.
What do yall think. Is this due to injury (Faulk)? Poor scheme? Or just not a very good group of linema?

need to shuffle the line-up a little, although Miles has never shown a propensity to do this...I'd take this week to experiment a little with Collins and Alexander at the tackles. Try Hurst at guard..

The OL definitely needs major attention. This has to be corrected before we go into the Swamp.

Problem is, playing Towsend may give the staff some false sense of security

No. No. No. All is well. They're trying. Don't say anything about the oline. Let's go back to JJ/JL wars.

I wonder how many sacks and TFLs the Towson RDE would have to get before we bench Josh D. He gave up 2 sacks in half a game against Idaho before leaving the game, 2 sacks last night in the first half and his man probably made 5 tackles for loss on running plays last night.

But he's like an extra coach!

They'll have to definitely move some people around IMO. Florida, S Carolina, and bama are more talented on defense than auburn. Hopefully they work out the kinks soon because our tackles were undressed for most of the game

I got whacked for joking about this. I know the kid is trying, but, so was Timmy Lupus. There has got to be an answer. Mettenberger is eventually going to be injured if this keeps up. Problem is, Miles's loyalty. He'll play him against the Baltimore women's auxiliary this weekend and feel justified that he gave up no sacks. How is he not being eaten alive by Mingo in practice? What do the coaches see on game film that I don't. Is it edited for miles?

Oline is by far my biggest worry for the rest of the season. Oh yeah and no more running on 3rd and 3+. 1,2 yards to gain is fine; but I think we got stuffed on every 3rd down when we tried to run it from 3+

Never been a Josh D fan and never understood how he grabbed accolades a few years ago. He's honestly not that talented and never was for LSU. Bad things seem to happen on his side wherever he starts...

LSU seems to like to recruit guys who are great maulers in HS but lack pass protection polish at all. It's obvious watching our guys, they're not comfortable in pass protect. Most of our guys are HUGE. Little hard to block the edge on a speed rush when you're 340lbs and get out of your stance slow.

The exception is Josh D. He's not huge, lacks strength, and slow. Not a good combo. Basically, he lacks pass protect and run block ability. At least everyone else on our line can be considered good run blockers...

Another negative...you don't think Mett is thinking about having his shite pushed in on every passing play when the only thing between his blind side and a DL is Josh D?

T Bob and Josh must have been bringing cupcakes to Stud in the meeting room all these years. There is really nothing to explain all the pt they've gotten at the expense of people who may actually be able to block.

Even on the year he gained praise, often times when the oline was breaking down, it was his side collapsing. I've seen him get pancaked more than he ever put a mean pancake on a dlineman...

It was pretty common seeing him and T-Bob on their arse with their feet in the air.

Les has his favorites. We've seen this before.
