We need to reshuffle the deck in the secondary. Brandon Taylor was sorely underrated during his time at LSU. He was a converted cornerback who we could depend on to match-up one one one with a receiver. We no longer have this luxury with Reid and Loston, and it's costing us an opportunity to be creative with our blitzes.

In my opinion, our lineup should look like this:

FS: Tharold Simon
SS: Eric Reid
CB: Mills
CB: Collins
NB/TM7's position: Loston

This lineup would give us the opportunity to unleash Loston. He's a headhunter, and he'd be outstanding blitzing off of the edge in obvious passing situations. It would also give us a safety with coverage skills. Before everyone goes crazy, Simon is rated by the NFL as a free safety. Also, Eric Reid is not fast enough to man-up receivers. Simon is.

I've been thoroughly impressed with Collins. Maybe even moreso than Mills. I'm not sure we lose much at CB with Simon moving to FS.

The offensive line woes are 100% accurate. Hurst came to LSU as a guard, and he should remain a guard. Dworcyzk has never lived up to his billing. Even prior to his injury, he was not a dominating guard. I wouldn't even be against putting Trai Turner in the rotation at guard to challenge Williford.

LT: Collins
LG: Hurst
C: Lonergan
RG: Willford/Turner
RT: Alexander

ETA: We need to stop the constant rotation at WR. Just pick starters and backups. Under Larry Porter, we did this with the running backs, and it never allowed our RBs to get into a rhythm. The same thing is happening with our wide receivers.

The issue is that Reid and Loston are not excelling in coverage

I like where you have Loston at considering he is just randomly roaming the field and always out of place anyways.

Simon looked a little shaky last night, but overall I think they played well. I'd be more comfortable saying that if Auburn had a good QB, but allowing less than 100 yards in the air is objectively a good night.

reid is by far our best DB, but he's gambling too much this year. our coaches need to just ensure he plays more conservative

Agree. He's talented, but I think his size/speed combo are more congruent with SS than FS.

but that also hurts a depth at CB. I know we can just switch around Simon and Loston back but that's alot of switching and substituting.

Hurst and Dworaczyk are two of Les' favorites.

They are not moving.

The only swap I could see happening would be LC and JD.

Dude, they should make u director of personnel. Not being a douche. Seriously. U hit the nail on the head. Live the Loston idea. Great for contact, blitzing. And we still placate his ego by keeping him at db. Both Jalens are really improving. My biggest concern- Dworaczyk! Period! If miles and stud watch the game tape and continue to keep him at LT, they are either horrible recruiters for not having another answer, or dumber than a bag of diapers for keeping him there. He is out of position. Totally in over his head and will get skullfked by the likes of Clowney, etc. We cannot have a less than mobile qb having his blindside "protected" by an inept LT. I said it after Washington- we have to solve this before oct 6.
