Auburn always plays us tough at Jordan-Hare. Until recently (last few years) the home team usually won regardless of the ranking. The rivalry between the two schools is one of the most heated in history. Anybody who thought Auburn was gonna roll over for us doesn't know the history of this series.

This is why I posted that I thought everyone was taking them too lightly and got made fun of. This game scared me but at least we got a W...

Truth is we let them hang around because we were sloppy and undisciplined. If we punch that first td in or not fumble after the safety, we take out the crowd and their confidence. We didn't put them away when we could have and that's what can happen when a talented team gets some hope. We shouldn't have been exposed like we were. Could have been avoided. May actually get better because of it.

I noticed a quick and smart-alecky response from somebody to the effect of "Thanks for enlightening us "

But I believe the smarty-pants set that doesn't want to consider this factor seriously is really uninformed as to the true nature of SEC rivalries and match-ups. The LSU/Auburn series is always a bloody fight. Maybe especially so at Jordan-Hare Stadium for us of the LSU persuasion. It is never enough in these kinds of games to look at the current state of the current teams. It is always necessary to include the deeper currents of tradition and history before setting expectations for the next game between the two teams. When I saw the spread, with LSU favored by some 20+ points, I said to myself "unrealistic." Last year's LSU team was exceptional, but I'm not seeing that same quality yet in this year's team. So I was very skeptical of any kind of predicted or expected blow-out. And am not at all surprised, given the history of our series with the Aubies, by this 12-10 score. I'm just glad we left Jordan-Hare with the W.

I think LSU and it's fans should feel fortunate to have held on to the #3 ranking. Hopefully it's a wake up call because I think this team has the potential to be great.

That was before Auburn stinks since Cam left...did you see that ULM dropped 28 on them and took them to OT AT Auburn?

ULM is better prepared and coached than LSU. Just saying...
