Well, this just came out (Not RISES), and its, as usual from Bruce Timm, a perfect adaptation. Really great adaptation of the material, and can't wait for the second half, which will come out next year. I hope that the live action guys take a hint from Bruce Timm and start doing live action films like Bruce Timm does for animation, since that's really the only direction you can take the series for quite some time since there's no way you're going to one up Nolan's trilogy.

Wasn't a big fan of Batman's voice though and wish they just played it safe with Kevin Conroy. I am very curious to hear of Michael Emerson's Joker (guy played Ben Linus on LOST), who could probably do a great on screen version if they were to retackle the character anytime soon on the big screen. Really we just got half a film, to where its difficult to judged it versus the other Batman films, but if the next one is as good as this, it will be in the top half of Batman films to be sure.

I didn't watch this or year one yet. Last one I watched was under the red hood.

Under the Red Hood is a great one. I haven't seen this one yet, but it looks really good and the cast sounds great.

Year One was alright. Not my favorite of the animated Batman movies.

I'd love to see them do am animated version of Hush.

I saw this and I was very impressed with how well it was done. I thought the Mutant Leader was over the top but really dug the intimidation that Peter Weller's voice brought to Batman. My favorite part in the film is when this mutant thug has his head in a bag and Batman is interrogating him. The mutant thug tries to reason with him and Batman says, "You are in no position to bargain. Here, let me show you." He takes off the bag and the mutant thug finds that he's hanging 30 stories above the ground. The way Peter Weller says that line so non-chalantaly is very intimidating. I also loved the final fight between Batman and the Mutant Leader. A very good adaptation.

I felt the Year One movie was trying to hard. Way to many artistic panoramas and such

Year One was more a movie of commissioner Gordon than Batman

ok. I bought it friday and I've watched it three times already

Yes it IMO is perfect. Seriously. Animated or not THIS is the version of Dark Knight I have waited 25 years for

Thought Weller would not be to my liking but he grew on me as the movie progressed and by the end, well he was Batman to me by the end.

I thought the entire mood and visuals were spot on. Easily worth the buy to me and I can't wait for part 2....can't fricking wait and hope I live to see it

I just bought this and really can't wait to see how this turns out to me.

Will post my review later tonight or tomorrow. The previews for this looked solid.

Just watched it. Pretty damn good if you ask me. I agree with you that they pretty much used the source material as best as they could have done. The fighting style is definitely top notch and needs to be used in live action. I thought Batman's uniform was a little off in this one but what the hell do I know.

Really wasn't a fan of Robin's uniform. Thought it looked stupid. Batman being a hunted vigilante reminds me of TDK. I guess I really understand how The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises have so much in common and are very similar to The Dark Knight Returns.

It'll be interesting to see the joker next year and how he'll react to seeing Batman again. I'm also curious to see how joker interacts with the sons of the batman even though we all know batman will deal with them very soon.

Good movie. I'm hoping for and expecting the best in the winter.

That is because Nolan took almost all of his movies plots an themes from the dark knight returns, He said so him self. The only thing I did not like about the movie is the internal monologue that batman has in the novel is not in the movie,so u can see that he is a complete phyco. But ifthat was done the movie would be over 2 hrs long. But other then that I give it a 8.5 out of 10

I do agree with this. One of the things I loved about the original graphic novel was that BW had become unhinged

it's played up a little but no where near the level of the novel. being nit-picky really. But it's still a home run flick
