Repairing Ruts/Tire Tracks In Yard

I had a water line replaced yesterday and the idiot Bobcat driver decided to go straight through my entire front yard instead of the shortest and straightest possible path. The result isn't as bad as it could have been, but I've got tons of tracks in the yard from the knobby tires on the Bobcat, as well as a couple of minor ruts. I mean from one side of the yard to the other. Idiot.
What's the best way to repair this? I was talking to a yard guy this morning who said the obvious solution is to spread out river silt. The problem is that we're almost into Fall and the grass will most likely not grow in time to fill in. I'll be stuck with either the tracks in my yard or river silt in my yard until Spring.
Any other ideas or input would be appreciated.

just use sand. It will level itself.

I would call whomever was doing the work and get themto fix it.

Is that the general consensus when it comes to filling in any unlevel spots in the yard? I assume grass will just grow over the sand at some point?

Yep, any creeping grass likes sand because it's easy for it to get roots in it and it holds water well.

So you guys think sand over silt?
I'm still concerned that the grass won't grow in time and I'll be stuck with a front yard full of sand/silt. The area that the tracks cover is pretty big.

My plumber uses some guy to do the dirt work. No idea who it is and even if I knew, do I really want somebody to fix their own mistake, when they do that bad of a job to begin with?
Again, the bottom line is do you guys think the grass will have enough time to grow out over the sand/soil? I hate to do all that work and it looks even worse than before and I'm stuck looking at it until Spring.

It's still Sept. Your grass will grow for at least another month.
ETA: It will probably cover sand faster but I can say that definitively.

What kind of grass? If bermuda or centipede then sand is your best option.

River silt/sand is full of unwanted grass seeds, I would not put it in my yard.

If sand, then just the regular play type of sand or is there something different I can buy at a nursery? Maybe it's a little coarser?

Golf course sand. Run out to your closest country club and shovel out a few buckets from one of their greenside bunkers and you're good as gold.

I would want them out there with a shovel. I have the same machine and work in peoples yard everyday. its a big no no to do this.
at least tell the plumber. he has a right to know the guy is doing shitty work.

I told the plumber about it this morning. He claims he'll take care of it, but he's a freaking plumber for crying out loud. Also, he's kind of a friend and I don't want to unload on him too hard.
