How would they have the season leader in passing without his yardage?

I take your meaning.
Fontenot's yards are 415 for the single game and 736 for the three(3) games this season. Thanks.

Both QB's in the Jesuit-Shaw game went over 500, so that's not right. Maybe those numbers are just Lake Charles area leaders?

Yes, they are for sure, Lake Charles area leaders and among the state leaders listed grouped with all classifications. Quinn's 520 yards receiving for this year is the only factual(#1)leader. I thought they would be of interest because Jones is a 2013 commitment, Quinn has a 2014 offer and Fontenot possibly could be offered in football and/or baseball for 2014. The entire list is published in today's Lake Charles American Press newspaper entitled "State Prep Leders" page C2.

Great info, thanks CharleyLake! For so many years SWLA was not held in the same regard with football success as other sectors of the state. It is great to see kids like Jones and Fontenot putting SWLA on the football map!

Until they either win a state championship or contend on a consistent basis for a title like Westlake did a few years ago the Lake Charles area isn't viewed in the same regard as Monroe/Lafayette/New Orleans area for football. Same thing with the Alexandria area as well.

Fontenot is a terrific baseball and football player but I will be very surprised if LSU offers a 5'10" QB. Considering their top 2 QBs are at least 6'5". Being that short is a severe limitation even in college. It's almost no shot at pro level of being successful at 5'10". I think his future is baseball. I am sure this kid wants to play professional sports. Not too much call for 5'10" QBs.

I think Kennon would make a great D-1 RB, he has an uncanny ability to always make the first tackler miss, maybe LSU could recruit him at another position!

He will make a great D-1 baseball player too!

How high is TQ on A&M? Is his recruitment going to go down to the wire?

It would help if they'd, ya know, win playoff games and stuff.

Melvin Jones is number 4 on Max Preps in Louisiana Rushing.

I have number 6 Aurren Cooksey and 18 Enone Thompson in the same backfield at North Desoto.

Does this mean Melvin Jones could possibly be looked at as a fullback/running back if others project ahead of him as a linebacker?

I personally think he will remain at LB as a college football player--just want to see what everyone thinks about this.
