Dining at the bar, as usual. Really like this place. Could be a good bar scene, great outdoor seating on patio, or a romantic dinner spot.

Thus far, Donati Claret and a small Chargrilled Oysters with Roasted Red Peppers.

Powerman, you didnt give that appetizer enough praise. It was divine. A ton of garlic, Im gonna have to chew peppermints all day - taking 3-4 showers..... But man, those puppies are fine. Ordered a small - was 8 shells, but likely 16 oysters in the dish.

Decided on 1 more app.... Venison Tar-Tar with a Juniper port reduction.

Will update.

Tryin to decide on Rack of Lamb, Osso Bucco, Apple Braised Pork Belly. Woulda been Swordfish from the seasonal menu, but they are out.

Venison Tar Tar was very good.... But I didnt give it its due, having just enjoyed the oysters and anxiously awaiting the Lamb.

Good flavor. Port frites had a lil too sweet for me demiglaze tho.

Yeah. I actually prefer them to drago's oysters. But I didn't want to get accused of flaming by the NOLA aristocrats.

Glad you enjoyed them.

FWIW Cristiano has a solid Sunday brunch if you ever happen to be in Houma on a Sunday afternoon.

Glad you're enjoying it...I'm certainly jealous.

Pretty sure we are doing my sister's rehearsal dinner there.

Also, Cristiano's is one of maybe 4 restaurants in Houma my gf will eat at. I think the other three are Milano, 1921, and Zen...she hates everything else.

Well.... Gotta say, ima snob in a sense..... And this rack of lamb was excellent.

I highly suggest the chargrilled (for a diff spin) and the lamb.... For anyone that visits.

Great wine list. Friendly service.

Would give a better review if it wasnt so late. Just put this one on the list if ur ever here. Cant wait to come back.

Glad to hear it. Cristiano has done an excellent job there, and he is almost always at the restaurant greeting people at the door or walking around and talking to his patrons.

He also has a restaurant in NOLA called Martinique. I've yet to try it, but I'm sure it's good. I know Brangelina used to frequent it

Glad to say you enjoyed everything

FWIW the guy that owns it also owns Bistro Martinique on Magazine St. in New Orleans (and has for the past several years as far as I know)

I would say that this Italian joint in Houma could easily hold its own with the best that New Orleans has to offer and that's saying something for a Houma place.

Atmosphere is great as well.

I've had the Osso Bucco with a Saffron Pea Rissoto there

Definitely really good

One of the best apps I've ever eaten in my life was there. Some braised beef cheek with a horseradish foam of some sort. I can't remember what all was in it but it was excellent.

Get the Osso Buco and the gnocchi.

I really enjoyed my meal here, worth the round trip from Baton Rouge.

I used to frequent this one. How does Cristiano's place in Houma compare?

I know he is very engaged at Martinique...I'm sure he's the same in Houma. Nice guy.
