I will be in China during the Bama game. Does anyone know how to get access to watch games there? I'm not sure if their internet filtering will block Justin.tv, so I'm not counting on that. Am I just SOL?

I listened to Hawthorne call the LSU-Irvine baseball series in China through Geauxzone. I don't know about video though. And I don't know if Geauxzone access has changed since 2008.

Could you check with our Embassy to see what help or TV connections they have or a major American hotel, like a Hilton? I don't know, but, good luck.

On television while sitting in your underwear, while gorging on some fried rice.

Sorry, had to. I have no idea.

It is possible that ESPN will show the game live in China. Often times, ESPN in Asia has rights to major US sporting events and will show the feeds from other networks live as part of international agreements.

Good luck - I think perhaps the major hotel chain might be your best bet

What part of china you gonna be? I couldn't catch the Super bowl when I was there on Feb, but I was in mainland central china. If you're in Beijing, hong kong or Shanghai I'm sure it'll be much easier to catch.

Find a western hotel & they'll probably have some American channels. Otherwise I'm pretty sure Justin.TV isn't blocked.

I dont know if it will still work, but a family member of mine was able to use a proxy server to access a banned site.

It might be worth researching this.

TD is touchy with regards to giving out links to sites that are alternate broadcast proponents .

Google any other SEC/BCS team game for this upcoming week and you will get plenty of hits in the .eu domain. I am sure you can take it from there - a friend of mine had to travel to taiwan and could access those sites from there.

I believe their are certain areas that have bars that broadcast game of the week. So there is a good chance that will be the one they are broadcasting. China is kinda big, where are you staying?

LSU Bama will be on CBS. Even if by remote chance you get college football on ESPN it'll likely be BIG or Pac12 game. Firstrowsports FTW.

Most major Chinese hotels that cater to Westerners will stream in American and also European sports television networks.

You can also utilize the watchespn app if you have an iPad or similar device.

I had no problem getting MLB when I visited China in May.

Where are you going?

You better polish up on Shanghainese as well as Mandarin. The younger crowd in Shanghai will speak a mix of Mandarin-Shanghainese and the elder crowed will speak mostly Shanghainese.

To be truthful, you'll do fine without either as a large number speak English very well.
