Anyone going? Catholic probably has the best qb in the Baton Rouge area in Nick Coons and Central has one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the state in Gary Triplett. Should be a great one. Hopefully Triplett has recovered from his injury from last week. Kid already has 6 TD's through 3 games and he missed almost 3/4ths of the Woodlawn game.

I'll be there for sure. I haven't heard whether Triplett will play or not.

Coons is a junior this season. He started playing towards the end of his sophomore season last year and is a very efficient and effective passer. Triplett was in a boot Saturday during film but says he is hopeful to be out there Friday. I'd say he's listed as questionable. Hopefully he can because he has a very promising season going right now. On pace to be in the 15-20 td range again this season

Nick Coomes is the junior QB for Catholic. Derrius Guice is the Soph TB that had a couple of scores against Denham Springs

I've heard good things about this kid as well.

This board just needs to stay focused on the actual players, not their team matchups, because it's not a high school football board. That stuff goes on the MSB.

Good to hear. Would like to see more Catholic kids playing D1 football. Something extra to follow and cheer for.

Courville, Centrals QB, would be a legit prospect if he were taller. Kid is a beast

Still early on obviously, but from what I've been told he loves to be in the weight room and works his tail off. Those are the kind of guys who can develop big time skills.

Triplett will be a big recruit. According to scout, lsu,Texas, USC and ucla are showing medium interest.

Gary Triplett should be a serious recruit on many big time programs board. He lacks size, if I had to guess he will be 180 lbs when by the end of his senior year and then around 190-95 when he gets into a college lifting program. He had 15 td's as a sophomore and he already has 6 through 3 games this season. He's a game changer. Someone asked Sid Edwards on the radio show last Thursday who Triplett compares to and he said in all of his years coaching Triplett is the closest to Warrick Dunn he's ever seen. This is his first year getting solid reps.

Players with D1 potential:
Central:
Gary Triplett - WR
Devon Gales - WR
Brett Courville - QB
Jake Myer - TE/RB (might not play. dislocated his elbow in season opener but dressed this past friday)
Dalton Holdman - LB
Lamonte Janeau - RB (Kid is 200lbs running a 4.5 but he's either all or nothing. You never know what you're getting out of him)
Justin Vessel - RB (Kid has all the talent in the world but rumor is he quit because of playing time)

Catholic:
Nick Coomes - QB (Can't say enough about this kid. Dead accurate. Great poise. Has a great chance)
Derrius Guice - RB (Great talent)

I am not as familiar with the Catholic players as I am with Central but I know they have to have more than 2 if they did what they did against Denham last week because that is a very good program this season. Feel free to add on if you know of anymore

One thing with Triplett is when you watch him play the first thing you think of is "This kid is made for Oregon." Speed speed and more speed but not scared to lower his shoulder for such a small guy. Hopefully he'll be able to play this week
