I've noticed over the last several years that when many artists release their new "standard" album of songs, they will also release a "Deluxe" version of an album at the same time. The "deluxe" version usually includes 3-5 extra songs, which are usually outtakes, b-sides, or remixes.

Does the Music Board spend a few bucks more for the Deluxe version, or do you prefer the standard traditional album?

I guess the question really is: do you recognize an album as complete the way it is, or do you not mind the bonus tracks, which may or may not be garbage that tarnishes the album as a whole.

As an example, would Led Zeppelin IV be tarnished if they had thrown some crappy bonus tracks at the end?

I think people should be compensated for their work. If I really like an artist, I will by their special edition because I don't mind throwing them some extra money. But usually, no, I don't buy their B-sides.

But I find it horrible the first response was to laugh at paying for for music. We are stealing from artists, and the big computer conglomerates have conditioned us to expect free ice cream.

They absolutely should be compensated for their work. And I feel that I do so by attending their shows, buying shirts, vinyl, etc.
