He's talk about so much as overrated that he is underrated on the all time scale.

People that knock him look at pure yearly stats.

He is never the best, but he's in the top 5 or so annually offensively. Doing that over 18 years is impressive.

His greatness isn't in his annual numbers, it's in his longevity and consistency.

I remember when BB03 was laughed at for picking Jeter to lead the AL in hits. Nice pick so far.

He couldn't walk yesterday with a "lower leg injury." Today he plays with no problem. Interdasting.

yeah he only leads the majors in OBP, and if it stands he will have done it for the 2nd time while no other catcher has done it once in over 75 years.

Mauer is one of the elite players of this generation and better than Jeter.

Is Jeter #1 as a Yankee?

Rose, Ty Cobb, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial, Wagner, Speaker, YaZ.... who are the other 2?

Nap Lajoie, Cap Anson/ BRuth?

Anson, Molitor, Eddie Collins. Baseball Ref has Jeter 11th still, not sure where the OP was getting his numbers. He was tied with Mays for 11th.
