Interesting story but the kid actor character drove me nuts. I think they should have tried to make him a little more likable. Sandra Bullock looked a little worn in this movie.

I already hate that kid and all I saw was the trailer.

I tried to read the book and literally couldn't handle it and stopped reading.

Holy shite what a terrible, manipulative, exploitative novel.

Never even bothered to watch the movie cause I just knew seeing that kid on screen would make me want to rip my face off.

yeah, i hated the kid, but couldn't imagine how i would have reacted if i were in his situation.

i know i would have been an a-hole (or more than usual) as well, so i give him somewhat of a pass

it was a decent flick but there really was no payoff at the end.

It's definitely a heavy movie that feels like it's heavy for the sake of being heavy. I saw that movie on a first date; it's a miracle I got a second one

It was an irritting movie and seemed awfully forced. I couldn't enjoy it.

Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors so I was looking forward to this, but I agree that the kid became so unlikable that it made me actively dislike the movie as I was watching it. I know they had to make him a little bit of an a-hole to show the emotional stages he was going through, but I kept having to fight off the urge to punch him in the throat.

I liked the premise of the movie, and it was a good movie, but I hated two things:

1. That fricking kid

2. The ending. I stayed up till 0330 waiting to see the end, and about shite myself

I wanted to read this book and then see the movie... I am wondering now if that is the right decision...

Disliked that movie because yes...I hated that kid.

And the mute Grandpa.

I'd rather watch the kid from Problem Child in The Miracle Worker than watch that movie again.

I let my wife choose the movie for our first date, and she picked The Other Boleyn Girl. Luckily, we were the only ones in the theater so we just talked the whole movie.

It is literally one of the worst books I've ever read.

Pick it up in the store and read a chapter or two before buying it, or download the preview chapter, and I can almost guarantee you won't end up buying it.

I liked it. Very sad movie. Yes, the kid was annoying. Great score that I listen to frequently.

I found it extremely boring and improbable though I was pleased with Van Sydow's performance.

That kid ruined it for me and my SO. All he did was piss me off the entire time and ruined would could have been a good movie.
