There was a thread on here a few months back discussing where to buy quality craft beer in Orange Beach and surrounding areas. I tried searching to no avail. Any help is much appreciated!

Cosmos has a gift shop on the patio outside that has a great selection of single bottles. That's about it around OB. My advice is to head to Florida because Bama sucks when it comes to craft beer and booze.

We always hit up Cosmos for a meal while there... guess I've never checked out the gift shop.

Seaside package took care of my needs while we were on the beach. Had Bell's and Terrapin.

Cottage Hill Package in Mobile is where we stopped on the way to OB and back from OB.

If you think Bama sucks for craft beer, I really hate to see what you think about Louisiana. Among the craft beers available in Alabama, not available in Louisiana are Bell's, Avery, Great Divide, Founders, Oskar Blues, Ballast Point, Boulevard, Tallgrass, SweetWater and Kona. Not to mention they got a special shipment of Jester King recently. Plus Good People and Straight to Ale both are good local craft breweries.

Alabama is getting a helluva lot more craft beer options than Louisiana these days. Yes, I'm mad.

Yes it's much better than when I was living in Baton Rouge. They did just change some laws last month and it's legal to home brew here now. I picked up a few bottles of Jester King at Cosmos a few weeks ago.

Looks like Cottage Hill is on the way in. Will definitely stop there.

And I googled Seaside Package too. I assume it's the one in Gulf Shores? If so, that's perfect. Thanks a lot.

Really looking forward to trying some Bell's and getting reacquainted with Sweetwater and Good People.

Be thankful you don't live in Mississippi!

In defense of La craft beer, I was pleasantly surprised to see La represented so well at the Emerald Coast Beer fest last weekend in Seville quarter in PCola. Abita, Parish, Bayou Teche, Nola, Crescent City Homebrewers and New Orleans Beer Company all had beer booths.

They just got label approval to put their Lilly Flagg milk stout in cans.

I ended up having to drive all the way to Pensacola last time I was down there. Someone could really clean house if they opened a specialty beer place right by the Florabama.

Your best bet in Gulf Shores for those beers will be Brunos or Wal Mart which both have a decent selection. You can build your own 6 packs at Brunos

You can find all those in Gulf Shores/OB. I remember picking up Bells from Publix last time I was there. I also went to another place in Gulf Shores that had a pretty good selection, may have been Liquid Latitude

Nice, thanks. That works because of the obligatory daily trip to Publix.

I tried out cosmos and loved it. Great beer selection. And the burger - ground beef, short rib and brisket - outstanding. Wish I'd have gone again for some of their other dishes. I highly recommend this place. And Maggie's is the gift shop with a wide selection of beers you can buy by the singles, make your on six pack and some bombers as well.
